RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Alpha Omega - 05-31-2012 12:47 PM

Alpha shrugged, shaking his head. "Sonic is the only one here I've met, and even then we weren't together long. I'm gonna guess we're discussing Robotnik and his new buddies?"

Anu rubbed his chin. "Interesting. Definitely something Her Highness and I would want to look into."

Ji had turned her attention to the menu; she hadn't eaten a thing since they were at Tech's house.

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gail Strafer - 06-01-2012 10:02 AM

"They grow back?" Gail suddenly went wide-eyed with intense curiosity, as he looked at the stubs where the antlers had been before. "I didn't know that! Does it...does it hurt much when they git to comin' back up?"

Everything today appeared to excite and amaze the wolf. Of course, that was understandable. He'd spent most of his life growing up a relatively isolated life in a small farm town in the middle of nowhere. This was bar none the most exciting day of his life.

Quote:"So... exactly how did we end up in a ninja village anyway?"

"Well...right after you went under, this ninja guy called Espio showed up, and apparently he an' his friends all live in this village on the island," Gail's Dixie drawl continued to slur the words together as he rambled along. "Uh course...I thought it was darn rude of them not to help earlier since they been here the whole time, so I told him off for bein' late to the party! But it was awful nice o' him to bring us here all the same, yes it was. Now we're gettin' ready to talk about how we're gettin' back at Robotnik!"

Quote:"Now that everyone is here...", he said as he stuck a fork into a sasauge patty. "We have much to discuss..."

With much anticipation, Gail suddenly cut off his rambling and shifted his attention to Espio. It had been an awful fun day fighting Robotnik and his cronies. Gail, ever the young man who thought he'd live forever, couldn't wait to talk about going to fight him again.

Since Gail beat him to it, Sonic walked quietly besides the group as they made they’re way to Epsio. This sure was a strange group, but considering what’s gone on it made sense. Sorta of. He’d eventually get over it. But for now, he wanted to know what had gone on before he came onto the scene. He still couldn’t believe how these guys had trusted the Doc’s grandfather so easily; but at the same time he had a hard time believing he’d betrayed anyone considering how messed up he looked. He didn’t know where the guy had been, but SOMETHING happened; and he doubted it was just because a deer was holding a knife up to his throat.

“Yeah, really.” Sonic replied, as he walked over towards Epsio’s side. Looking at everyone who had gathered, he folded his arms. “I’d say though before we start asking about what the Sam-Hill happened, there’s something I think we need to know. Does anyone here even KNOW Professor Gerald Robotnik? And when I say “know” what I really mean is, is there anyone here who does NOT know about the Ark incident...?”

He gave a short pause, before realizing something.

“Both of them, I mean. Because if not it's probably best that you know.”

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gerald Robotnik - 06-02-2012 02:53 PM

Someone if facing the right way, probably noticed that a girl (the same one who had brought a tray of food from before), was hurrying towards the room that Gerald was in; carrying an arm full of leather-bonded books. Quite a lot, actually, as it looked she was having a hard time carrying them. Even with the books giving her a hand-full*, she managed to open the door just fine and close the door behind her.

When she had opened the door, Gerald had looked up suddenly, his heart skipping a beat. But when he saw who had entered he calmed down. As she looked to him, she smiled a little as though she had looked relived.

“You’re looking a little better...”

“I’m not quite sure if ‘better’ is the right word...” Gerald mumbled back in a depressing tone.

The girl gave him an odd look, as she walked towards him without hesitation; setting the arm-full of books next to him on the bed.

“I got as many as I could. I wasn’t sure what you wanted, so I got a little of everything.”

He believed her considering the amount she had brought. He wasn’t quite expecting that much. As he took a bite of his pancakes, he looked through the stake. Most looked to be works of fictions, but one fairly large book caught his eye. It didn’t say much, other than “Alchemy” written in bold, black letters. Curious, he picked it up and began to look at it.

The girl stood awkwardly as she watched Gerald examine the book. She was a little surprised how well he managed to open the book and turn the page in his left hand, while his right was currently working-at cutting more of the pancake. He must have done this often, she’d thought to herself before she spoke up.

“I don’t mean to pry...but what’s wrong?” she asked quite concerning. “They said you where canatonic when you where brought here. I mean, it must have been something bad...”

Even though he was reading, he was still paying close attention to what she was saying. At first, he stayed silent. She wasn’t being rude, but he had to question why she would have asked if she knew ‘it must have been something bad’. To be honest, he still wasn’t comfortable talking about it, though he supposed it would happen sooner or later. But for now, he figured he’d be cryptic.

“...you know, there’s a reason why most people with my kind of intellect are usually emotional cold....”

The girl gave him a strange look.

“Why?”

“Because if they cared, their minds will eat away at any mistakes they made.”

Sure enough, she was confused by this. On one hand he’d just told her the problem. On the other, he didn’t say anything about it at all. It was best that way.

He heard the door open once again, this time though it the ninja that Epsio had sent to get Gerald.

“Come with me.” He ordered, as he watched the human closely.

Letting out a deep sigh, he felt his nerves twist and gnarl in his stomach. He really wasn’t ready for this, but he probably never would be.

“Alright, one momment please...”

[*excuse my pun please. I know it’s horrible.

Quote:"They grow back?" Gail suddenly went wide-eyed with intense curiosity, as he looked at the stubs where the antlers had been before. "I didn't know that! Does it...does it hurt much when they git to comin' back up?"

"Of course they grow back. That's why they're called antlers, not horns." I replied, not quite able to hold back the shock in my voice that Gail didn't already know that. "Does it hurt? Well, no... I can't say I hardly notice them growing back; I mean, aside from the extra weight. In fact, the only time I really notice them is when the velvet covering them while their growing starts shedding; itchy as walking through a whole forest of poison ivy."

As the three of us walked over to Espio's table, I listened intently to what Gail had to say about where we were and how we got here. Considering I still didn't really understand what a Ninja is, I just humored Gail for now. Obviously he held them in very high regard, but that still didn't tell me why. I sat down at the table just in time for the Chameleon, Espio I guess, to finally break his eery silence. But before I could ask what exactly he meant by that, Sonic spoke up.

Quote:I’d say though before we start asking about what the Sam-Hill happened, there’s something I think we need to know. Does anyone here even KNOW Professor Gerald Robotnik? And when I say “know” what I really mean is, is there anyone here who does NOT know about the Ark incident...?”

I started to raise my hand when Sonic asked who knew Gerald, but my hand started to shrink back down after Sonic began to clarify the question. "I don't know anything about any Arc, but I am the one who brought Gerald here, if that's what you're asking. I met him a few weeks ago on the way back to Knothole after me and some friends helped turn back Robotnik's invasion of Solenna. Most of those friends are still missing too." I added with a sad note as my ears flattened against my head sadly. "When I heard his last name, I didn't trust Gerald any more than you would have, considering his last name. But he didn't even know about Dr. Robotnik when I confronted him about the name. When I told him who Robotnik was, he seemed hell-bent to stopping him. So I let him join me. I should have known he'd betray me sooner or later." The slightly darker brown lightning pattern in my fur began to glow with a faint white light; radiating outward from the small silver disk in the back of my neck as my temper briefly flared up.

[b]"You obviously seem to know him however

[Okay, someone please post on. We've all waited long enough]

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Alpha Omega - 06-13-2012 12:31 AM

Omega put his hand up, looking slightly confused. "I don't know any Robotnik besides the fat maniac. And I sure don't know about any Ark."

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Espio - 06-13-2012 07:18 AM

[Now that I actually feel 100% human and have the day off to post... also my apologies. X.o; ]

The ninja that had come to get Gerald leaned against the door casually, keeping an eye on him. His right hand was clearly hanging over a holster on his right thigh, a warning sign that should Gerald attempt anything he would find himself on the wrong side of whatever was stored away.

"...I supose I could fill in on the story of professor Gerald.", Espio said as he spoke up, crossing his arms as he closed his eyes to recall the tale. "Professor Gerald Robotnik was...or IS in this case he grandfather of Doctor Ivo Robotnik. He was a scientist that worked aboard the space colony ARK with his grandaughter. It was a orbital research lab researching advancments in technology."

He paused for a bit, glancing up at the ceiling before continuing. "I don't know ALL the facts; though Sonic can fill in the blanks. Essentially... G.U.N, the planet's primary military force thought his research was dangerous. They lead a raid to intervene, killing his grandaughter in the process. He went mad from this, and set things in motion for the colony to one day crash into the planet to avenge her before he was executed. Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog managed to fight off the biolizard, a creature made to carry out this mission and warped the ark back into a safe orbit. The whole battle was broadcast worldwide from the space colony, something Gerald had set up. This Gerald however isnt the old man shown on the video declaring his vengance. This one may not be from the same point in time...", he deduced out loud. He then fell silent, leaving the floor open for questions.

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Jijeka-Te - 06-14-2012 10:29 PM

(Anu) "I was right about to say that he seemed too old to have grandchildren. All this space-time nonsense is... actually not that hard to understand once you think about it from the right perspective. The new technology is hard to catch up to in places, though. I'm still not even sure what this ARK thing is. I gather it's not an ocean vessel like its name suggests..."

Ji was still busy with the menu.
