RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gail Strafer - 04-07-2012 11:41 AM Quote:"This village is what you would call...lost space. It's an area that's supposed to be here...and yet isn't entirely here in reality. It's a little hard to explain..." It kind of made Gail's brain hurt thinking about it. He decided to run his hand along the side of a hut in response to what Espio said. The texture of the wood and the leaves all felt perfectly normal to him, despite them not being there just a little while ago. How on earth did it all work? He rubbed a stray leaf around in between his fingers, deep in thought. Then Espio pointed them to a rather nice-looking building off to one side, where he said they'd be staying. It was then that the wolf realized just how tired he was and how long of a day it had been. He couldn't wait to see a bed and get some sleep, not to mention patch up some of the wounds that still hadn't completely healed. Although he couldn't help but still be concerned about the others. Gail turned back again to see how Chadin and Gerald were doing. It wasn't much change from what he had seen before from the two. They did seem to be in capable hands by this point, so he waited for Espio to let them into their lodgings. RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Sonic - 04-15-2012 01:40 PM Considering Gerald’s reaction, Sonic left his side. He wasn’t quite ready to talk with him fully yet, and the tension in the air was thick. He couldn’t stand the atmosphere. He walked away from where Chadin and Gerald were, and went over towards Espio. He listened to him intently while observing his surroundings. Rest wasn’t exactly an interesting prospect for him. He’d hardly worked up a sweat since he got here. But considering what everyone else had been through, he could see why they needed it. He figured he’d find something to pass the time while everyone else regained there bearings. And once they did he’d find out what was going on. He’s never seen a situation quite like this before. “We have got to figure out what is going on…” Sonic whispered over to Epsio. “ And if you’re not to out of shape, I wouldn’t mind talking about plans. I need to get up to date anyways.” RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gerald Robotnik - 04-15-2012 01:47 PM Seeing as no one really answered him; and Sonic awkwardly walking away, Gerald became silent. He just stared at the sky above and decided it was best to not pay attention. [Is there going to be a little timeskip soon?] RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Chadin - 04-16-2012 03:26 PM [color=#6B8E23I remained largely silent as the stretcher bearers brought us inside and set us up inside the rather large residence. About as soon as I was set up with a bed (no matter how simplistic or rugged) I quite happily lay down and within only a few minutes was out cold. Any visits from the villages healers would probably go largely unnoticed at this point. I was out cold and didn't intend to change that until at least morning.[/color] [Yeah, I'd say we ought to skip a head at least as far as the next morning at least once everyone's had a chance to recover a bit.] RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Espio - 04-18-2012 06:47 AM [Roger. Just gimere a heads up when the groups ready to fast forward.] As they entered the main lounge for the village, the stretchers would carry Chadin and Gerald upstairs to the lodging area where they would be watched over by guards. Healers would soon be coming to and from both rooms as time would go on, Gerald's mental state to be evaluated as well. For now, Espio pointed over to what appeared to be a sushi bar located off to the left of the lounge. "The situation has been explained, so your free to make order's to your hearts content. They also have food items you may be...more familiar with too if you ask.", he said as he tossed a shuriken at a vacant table, marking it for his group. "Feel free to explore inside the village until your ready to rest, we'll regroup in the morning...after all there's a crew examining the hovercraft we brought in. We won't be going anywhere till it's in working order to head off shore." As Sonic strolled up to him, he had a pretty good idea as to what was on his mind; the hedgehog wasn't one to stand around too long. "Sure thing...It would be in my best intrest to share what information I know to you.", he said as he proceeded to walk down a path to the right of the lounge, signaling Sonic (and anyone else who wasn't in the mood for food or rest for that matter) to follow. RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Jijeka-Te - 04-21-2012 10:27 AM Ji and Anu weren't quite sure where they ought to be. Somehow they both wound up seated at the table. (Ji) "It sounds like we and quite a few others have been torn out of our proper place in time. Do you think we'll meet anyone else from our own kingdom?" (Anu) "I'd be surprised if we met anyone whose lifetime would normally even overlap with ours. Time is the widest desert of all." RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gail Strafer - 04-23-2012 04:13 AM [I'm ready for a timeskip. Let's do it. Oh, and meet my little jab at anime dubs trying to disguise the country of origin ]Seeing the sushi bar made the tired wolf realize he was also quite hungry. However, the food gave him pause. What were those little roll things? He thought he'd seen them before somewhere...then he snapped his fingers. Of course. The Kittehranger ate them sometimes, but they called them "chocolate cake" or "donuts". He wondered if that's what they really were. They definitely didn't look like any cake or donuts he'd ever seen. While he was tired, he figured it couldn't hurt to try the food out. Eagerly he rushed to the counter and spoke to the chef. "Hey man, can I have some of them little tire things?" The chef, wearing a strange cylindrical hat, gave him a funny look, but otherwise quickly gave him a little tray with the strange tire things. He walked back to catch up with the others, and gulped down several in his large mouth at the same time. It didn't taste sweet at all. In fact, it tasted more like... "Raw fish?" he mumbled as he chewed. He shrugged though and kept eating. It wasn't an unpleasant surprise at all. He was a carnivore after all, so why not enjoy it? He ate from his plate with his paws as he headed for the sleeping area, oblivious to whether or not his hosts might find it rude for him to take food out of the dining area. RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Sonic - 04-25-2012 08:56 AM Sonic gave an embarrassed grin as he scratched the back of his head. “ To be honest I don’t know where to start. I feel a little shell shocked. Ya see, I kinda just appeared here. Like before hand I was stuck in this…place? I don’t know what to call it, but it sure was trippy. Anyways, I’m not sure how long I was there. But as I was running trying to find my way out I saw the damnest thing. I could have sworn I’d seen me pass by. And as soon as I looked over my shoulder, I ran right into Mushroom Hill zone, while it was burning to the ground; like back when Eggman passed by all those years ago.” As he walked and talked, Sonic took a moment to pause and rotate his head; a few quite popping sounds came from it. “Now I heard most of everything; shattering, Old Eggman alive, yadda, yadda, yadda…but how did this crap happen? How come you’re all young and stuff and I’m still all not-old-but still old-ish? And really? Old man Robotnik’s alive? I dunno, I’m havin a hard time having that wraped around my brain-oh….oh man.” All of a sudden his face brightened up, but in a sort of sinister way. He let out a snicker, which would most likely make Epsio raise a brow. But just as the thought of Eggman being alive, it automatically brought up the thoughts of another relative that he knew of. One he knew was going to flip his lid when he found out about it. And Sonic took delight in seeing his lid being flipped. And Sonic let it be known verbally to Espio. “Sorry man but…just…I can not wait to see the look on Nel’s face when he hears that! He’s going to go freaking crazy…” It soon dawned on him though that Espio wouldn’t know who he was talking about. His devilish grin wound down as he looked at Espio with a blank face as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. “Uhh, yeah. Nel’s a guy I know who’s worked with us back where I was from. I won’t spoil, but he’s got a very, very big problem with the Doc. Anywho, don’t mind me.” RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gerald Robotnik - 04-25-2012 09:10 AM Gerald was most likely going to be uncomfortable for the rest of the afternoon. Not only was he in a place he hadn’t been familiar with, Doctors of the mental kind where trying to poke around in his head; which Gerald wasn’t going to allow. He tried speaking before, and mostly everyone ignored him. So he wasn’t going to bother with anyone else; especially people he’d never known. For the rest of the day, Gerald would be anxious. Not only was he watching everyone who came in very carefully, but even as night would pass by he never got a wink of sleep. Oh sure, he was exhausted like everyone else. Even more so considering he probably hadn’t been asleep for a week or so. But unlike everyone else he couldn’t just fall asleep. After everything he’d been through, the nightmares he would have weren’t the only things causing him to lose his sleep. He was genuinely afraid, especially after Chadin’s action towards him. And with all the time that passed in the night gave Gerald more time to think. And the more he got to think, the worse he felt. So while everyone else got rest, Gerald’s conditioned worsened. [Let’s do the time warp aaagggaiiiinnn~ ] RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Chadin - 04-25-2012 02:26 PM [And cue flash forward...] Warm sunlight broke through the thick jungle canopy as the sun slowly began to rise above the horizon. Any other day, the sun's warming rays would be a pleasantly welcome sensation. Today however, it felt like invisible clawed fingers raking at my weary eyelids. I groaned in annoyance and rolled over to hide myself from the suns burning gaze. But it was already too late. I was already up. No point in prolonging the inevitable. The curse of being a deer. We're naturally light sleepers. Had to be, what with wolves of old always waiting in the bushes to pounce on us. Even if I didn't have the same instinctive fear of wolves, like Gail, some survival instincts die hard. Rolling out of the floor mat bed I'd all but collapsed in last night, I stretched my aching muscles out longer than normal, trying to work out all the stiffness and kinks. I looked around the room for the first, real time since I came here. Simple wooden construction, with a warm, cozy feel. Just like home... I sighed forlornly at the tragically distant memory. My ears hung sadly down the sides of my head as the memory of my lost parents tugged at that empty hole in my heart. A hole which grew wider when that thought drifted to the friends I'd lost in the MFF when the merge dumped me in this make-shift, patchwork zone. Looking back at it all, it felt like my life led from one tragedy or disaster to another. I couldn't decide if my life was just tragic or pathetic. An existence doomed to face uncertainly and danger with every step when all I really want is to lie on the beach of a pristine mountain lake and live in quiet peace. Action, adventure... I don't know how Sonic can throw himself into such dangerous situations with such casual ease.... After a moment's pause in realization, I reflexively slapped myself on the forehead for being so dense. I don't have to guess!! I have Sonic himself right in the same building somewhere. I ought to ask him. Maybe he can give me a few tips on how to deal with the stress. But before I could pursue that thought any farther, my stomach let out an all might growl that sounded like it came more from a feral tiger than an anthropomorphic deer. "I-I-I guess I better go find something to eat first..." I chuckled to myself aloud. With that, I grabbed my gear and started to try and navigate my way through the unfamiliar building. Suddenly I wished I'd paid closer attention to this place on the way in. I knew there was some sort of kitchen around here somewhere.... |
