Relic Drake - Relic Drake - 12-26-2011 02:02 PM Taking Nail's good advice. Pasting sections of Relic's profile for review. Name: Relic Drake Age: 400+ Sex: M Species: Fox Faction: Same as Priscilla's Alignment: Same as Priscilla's Appearance: Relic is an extraordinary fox and that is made evident to people at first glance. The first thing notice by people is he stands as a titanic 6' 9", often leaving him towering over others who are of a taller species. His fur is a obsidian black base, with crimson red runic markings on his chest, legs, arms, and muzzle. Most of the time Drake will be found battle ready, He wears a full suit of ghastly looking armor. Coal black in color it is lined with spikes on the trimming between sections of plate. His full helmet is form fitting, with an articulated mouth piece just for biting people. The ears are not fox like, instead are large dragon like frills leading some to believe the armor wasn't originally intended to be Relic's. The left gauntlet has little utility outside of being a weapon, as it is 5 times as big as it should be and the ends are 4 inch blades with edges facing in. Each of the grieves ends in 4 separate talons, once again lending to the idea that the armor wasn't made for Relic. The armor also posses a set of 7' scale mail wings, having a 15' wing span tip to tip. The wings can be manipulated but cannot allow Drake to fly, glide, or even slow his decent. Personality: Stern and unmoving on his position. He'll step to any level to what he deems needed to be done, or to fulfill what he feels obligated to do. Has an almost infinite reservoir of willpower allowing him to combat subversion and situations of pressure easier then most. Locked into a static level of manic, Relic will be more antagonized at a calm level, but when a situation escalates he will not lose his relative cool. Makes him function much better in dire situations and sub par in all others. Combat Style: A juggernaut of melee combat, Relic has an incredible staying power allowing to survive wounds that would kill others out right. Combined with a sturdy toughness he is able to shrug things off that would cripple others. As for his strength, he single handily wields the Kinslayers, albit not as well as a one handed sword. His strikes don't come close to someone like Knuckles, but his total body strength is something to fear. Slow and foreboding, Relic mainly uses his left gauntlet to attack, filling in with the necroshine as needed. The Dark Aegis helps him somewhat if the enemy has magical prowess. Drake wields the kinslayers for a multitude of reasons, he fears what others would do with it and also as a way of self punishment, the sword can only hit his enemies with weak jabs or grapples to bring the foe closer. When Relic uses the Kinslayer, the area he is fighting in often suffers the most damage. Moves: Devine wrath: Relic makes a challenge to the heavens and they respond, sending a wicked thunderbolt to fry the knight. The lightning is magical in nature and must be stopped magically. Being in a enclosed area will do nothing. With out the Dark Aegis this will nearly KO Relic and with it, around 5 - 6 will put him close to lights outs. Darkness wing flaps: Using his wings at a medium Relic Drake sends waves of energy to push/pull his opponent. The energy also moves air causing a gale of wind to form in the same direction as the maninia. Drake can choose to send the energy forward, pushing things in front of him and pulling those in back and vice versa. He can also choose to send the energy up wards pulling everything ground level to him and vice versa. Being moved by this energy is rather gentle, those charging moves that can be interrupted will not be interrupted, nor will any lose balance while being pushed or pulled. The energy moves at 8/mph and is how much it takes to offset being moved. Cruel blessing: Drakes blesses his enemies, granting them 300% speed and 300% strength. There is no stamina buff, so these increased actions cost the same as doing things X3 times faster/stronger. Also once blessed all actions are done normally at the increased rate. One would have to put 30% of their effort into an action to get a 'normal' result. Also due to an increase in heart rate and breathing, one feels a slight rush, this can also be distracting. This last at least 3 turns, If the blessed enjoy it it can last as long as 10. The first action must be to dodge a blessing or it will hit. Breaker: Relic charges a hit for one turn, letting out a wave of crimson crackling energy the next turn. The energy comes in a thin crescent, with verticals needing to be side stepped and horizontals needing to be jumped/ducked. At close range the crescent does 50% of what the hit would have done if landed. At long range, from 6' to 15' doing only a quarter. The speed is determined by the power, with stronger hits being slower. At the point of creation, Drake takes a backlash of the other 50%, the damage. This move is considered physical and does not do increased damage to Drake and is easily blocked by conventional ways (I.E. shield, sword, arms) Also it is still a spell and any move that would affect a spell also affects this. (I.E. magical blocking, redirect, magic eating) Whisper of Oblivion: Relic embraces the enemy bringing them close and whispers into their ear a truth so shocking and tragic it breaks their will to resist, most of the time. Other times they will be sent into a primal rage or even the exact opposite will happen fully restoring their spirits. Once per person per fight, Broken will last for at least 2 turns, rage is 3, high spirits for the rest of the battle. Being broken or enraged can last for the whole battle. God hand: Relic thrust his left arm at breakneck pace to capture a foe. Nearly unstoppable once launched, every time it misses it gets faster and faster. Relic's ultimate technique it's only down fall is that Relic is unable to attack one turn after preforming it. Including if he grabs, meaning he must keep a captured foe in his grasp for at least one turn before being able to capitalize. Good thing Drake has an immensely strong grip. Sol/Chaos Chronol rage: Using the powers of sol energy, Drake speeds himself up in time X2, Making him twice as fast for 10 turns. Since he is not actually moving faster he does not hit harder because he has no increased velocity. Cronus breaker: While in Chronol rage Relic transfers the time energy outward freezing all magic and inorganic objects excluding worn clothes and soft armors and gases. The time bubble extends for 250 feet around Drake. Heavy armor, such as Drake's, is not excluded. The bubble last for the remainder of what should have been Chronol rage. So if he was in the mode for 3 turns, Cronus breaker last 7 turns. Skills: Strengths: Tough, capable of taking hits more then any one else by far. Strength, while many others may hit harder, Relic is capable of out lifting almost any one else. Tactician, Relic can produce effective war strategies with in a short time. Versatile, with 4 weapons giving him ranges from close range melee to extended far, Relic is capable of fighting on any terms aside from exchanging sniper rounds. Weaknesses: 13X damage from magic, Lagging movements, slow attacker, reliant on equipment, highly self damaging, infrequent attacker. Relic is least effective aiming low, being so tall and having little offensive options with his legs. Moves in question. I've had a long conversation with nail over the move. I'm fine with taking out the " every time it misses it gets faster and faster." Because honestly I didn't even plan on implementing that part. I do plan on changing it from nearly unstoppable to just plain unstoppable. Something to warrant 4 turns for one attack. Charge, grab, wait, attack. The unstoppable will only apply to his arm, moving his body by proxy will move his arm. Castling: Prisciilla does a hand motion and says the phrase, instantly swapping places with Drake in a flash of light. Momentum and actions each one has is also swapped. If Priscilla castles while throwing a punch, Drake will take her place throwing a punch putting as much effort into it as she did. Can be done only once every 3 post. Drake has to be with in 500 feet. 50ft feet is a bit to harsh. I can do 200, a 60% reduction. The move is Priscilla's bread and butter. She doesn't fight extraordinarily well physically nor are her spells particularly offensive. I've spoken to Nail about my design goals on her and relic. I created them to bolster the seriously lacking villain roster. Not quite on Robotnik's level but the next best thing. When I made the duo, the only other villain had left and no villain active now was active then. Even still the other villain active now does not look like a faction leader. As a faction leader villain Relic and Priscilla are supposed to deal with multiple heroes. Priscilla may not see her plans to fruition, but she's almost guaranteed to make an escape. Damaging her in combat is also a (supposed to be) very hard task. While being a fair amount better then Robotnik in combat, She does not have the backing of an entire autonomous army. They say hind sight is 20/20, looking back I seem to have made the dire mistake of not sharing any of my thoughts officially with the staff. RE: Relic Drake - Nail Strafer - 12-27-2011 11:57 AM Guys, I'm good with these changes that Relic has suggested, since he'll be assuming a status as a big part of a faction. What do you think? RE: Relic Drake - Tutley Sakamoto - 12-28-2011 04:22 AM Hmn, I don't see much of a problem with God Hand with the suggested amendment. I'm okay with it. Anyone else want to chime in? RE: Relic Drake - Chadin - 12-29-2011 02:48 AM Alright, I think I can live with that. The teleport reduction to 200 feet is also acceptable. As a side note, to avoid such issues with player-created boss characters perhaps it might be a good idea to have players say so within the the alignment section? Eg. Alignment: Boss-level Villain? It might help avoid confusion and allow people to realize they're dealing with a character that ISN'T just an overpowered random player and is deliberately been allowed such power? RE: Relic Drake - Relic Drake - 12-29-2011 02:54 AM Yeah that was my mistake. RE: Relic Drake - Rose Fox - 12-31-2011 12:45 PM Sorry for my tardy-ness, I'm fine with this now. I think Chadin also has a good suggestion about adding the 'boss' title to a character. |
