Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Tutley Sakamoto - 12-07-2011 04:00 AM

[All right, everything seems to be set up, lets get this show on the road!]

(To those that haven't played Sonic Advance 3, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjpgkHG5exk )

Sunset Hill Zone

It would be a serene sight to those that visited this land, a zone locked in perpetual sunset. Flowing rivers, waterfalls, caverns and more were visable as far as the eye could see. Flowers and shrubs were more than abundant, Wooden bridges, poles, trampolines and other features of civilization were also present, though it seemed that few people; if anyone took up residence here. Though the zone was the literal definition of paradise, it was only accessable now through rifts that randomly appeared at various places and times and seemingly random intervals, the area cut off from the rest of the world by a violent clash between good and evil.

One said portal would appear now in a broad open field, a turtle emerging from the other side riding his extreme gear. He had a grin on his face, cutting on the boost as he sped past a tree. He had managed to deduct that one of the lost emerald shards had made it to this zone and had come to gather it, doing his part to restore the worlds to their previous form. After a few minutes, he would find what he was searching for, the shard out in the open in a clearing, resting atop a small stone shrine in the center. Said clearing was surrounded by various shrubs and trees, giving places to retreat and duck for cover. A waterfall would be to the south, a cavern visable through the mouth. In fact its presence would be easy to detect, as hovering platforms formed steps across the water into the cave. The turtle would eye the blue shard and step on a trigger on his gear, jumping into the air as his ride neatly folded up into a backpack, forming straps that secured itself to Tutley's shoulders. He would do a little flip in midair as he landed, placing his right hand on the shard.

RE: Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Terrador Bellator - 12-07-2011 04:19 AM

It was Terrador's usual stroll in attempt to restore balance to the world. Unfortunately, he had not been lucky. Not even a single shard was in his possession. As he came across a rather strange, but beautiful area through a strange portal, he beleived his luck would change. Just minutes after, such a beleif came true as if on cue. An ear-to-ear grin fixed on the Geomancer's muzzle as he cuaght sight of the blue shard not too far from him.

He kicked up a wave of earth wanting to get to it quickly before anyone snatched it. Upon reaching a safe distance, he took a mighty leap off his ride as it melted back into the ground. He landed with hi hand on the shard, only something was not right. The shard felt... soft and fleshy. Looking at it he noticed his hand resting on a green one. He glanced up and saw a turtle. Th echidna glared deeply at the turtle, quite wary of his intentions.

"Release the emerald, or I promise you shall regret otherwise." He growled, tightening his grip on the turtle's hand.

Tutley would look up slowly from the hand placed atop his. It seemed that he wasn't the only one looking for this shard after all. The glare and subsequent threat only further backed this theory. His other hand would reach for his hammer, pulling it out from the holster. He would NOT be leaving without this shard if he could help it. "Oh you've GOT to be kidd-", he would shout out loudly, cut off when the shard itself seemed to react to the conflict. Tutley froze as the shard comnuicated to him in a fraction of a second, not in words, or telepathic message.. it was hard for him to explain it himself, but the shard conveyed a message through emotions. It was probable that the other party recieved the same message to. Tutley translated the message to...

"If one of you wants my power, you must compete for it. Defeat the other in simple combat! You both have similar intentions for my use, so I shall ensure your saftey. You may fight as hard as you like; I shall cure your injuries when a victor has been decided.

Tutley's frown would turn into a upturned grin. He had thought that getting this shard was too easy anyway; and he never passes up a chance to spar and test his abilities. "So...", the turtle would say looking to the echidna, "you up for this?"

RE: Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Terrador Bellator - 12-08-2011 05:48 AM

As he watched the turtle reach for something, Terrador slowly reached for the staff strapped to his back with his free hand. As he placed a hand on it, a sudden voice cuased him to release his weapon. It wasn't coming from Tutley nor was anyone else around. Strangely, the emerald spoke to him, but how? Such an occurance was unexplainable.

"If one of you wants my power, you must compete for it. Defeat the other in simple combat! You both have similar intentions for my use, so I shall ensure your saftey. You may fight as hard as you like; I shall cure your injuries when a victor has been decided.

The Geomancer's fury subsided into a smug grin as he stared at the turtle. He knew he also got that exact message. Terrador hadn't had a good battle in some time and this turtle seemed like an formidable opponent. The echidna was also releived he was not evil and if this shard was to fall into his possession, it would be for the same purpose. He almost just let him have it and save him a whole lot of humliation, but his warrior instincts prevented such a thing.

"I am all for a good battle." He replied, releasing Tutley's hand and distancing himself. "I will give you the honor to strike first." He offered, assuming his fighting pose

Tutley would take a jump backwards, prompted to give his opponent fair chance to prepare himself. The shard would hover up into the air, a barrier coming down, forming a dome over a roughly mile wide area. It would shimmer before becoming invisable, the shard dissapearing, to return when the battle was settled.

"Let's do this, Emerald Challenge!" He had no idea why he spouted off such a odd phrase, perhaps it was the shard's influence on him. He would hold his arms out to the sides, focusing. The backpack would whirr to life, and after a second or two spout out the phrase,

[Surefire Protection, Classic Shield!] Charge Count: 9--->8

A transparent green bubble of energy would surround the turtle, a white layer of energy going around the shield. He wouldn't waste another moment, charging in towards Terrador, his hammer drawn, held in both hands. His boots would also startup, thrusting the turtle towards his target. He would attempt to come to a stop a foot in front of Terrador, swinging his hammer at the echinda's shoulders. He wouldn't bother moving in too close yet- he didn't know what he was capable of.

Tutley's Inventory: lCl

Watching the dome form as well as the emerald disappearing distracted him breifly. Tutley's words brought him back into concentration. He watched the turtle preform his manuevers with curiosity. As he saw the hammer drawn, he unleashed his own weapon. Within seconds, his mighty Baculum Petram was held firmly in both hands. A green aura shrouded the staff as he did so. As Tutley attempted his strike, the echidna held his staff out to absorb the blow. The impact was more intense then he anticipated and skid back a few feet as their weapons collided. That shell of his looked pretty tough and he didn't wish to try anything on it yet. Instead, he pushed against the hammer with a majority of his strength, hoping he would knock the turtle over. This woukd give him time to think about where to go offensively.

RE: Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Tutley Sakamoto - 12-09-2011 02:33 AM

The turtle grit his beak as their weapons collided, taking quick note of the echindas choice of weapon. Staffs typically mean magic. Magic means unexpected attacks from nowhere. Glowing staffs are more dangerous than non-glowing staffs. As the combatants skid forwards, the turtle knew he had to go for a pressure game; try not to give him a chance to cast anything too big. Tutley was using most of his strength to try to overpower his foe, so when the foe gave another push he found himself off the ground, slipping backwards, a surprised look on his face. "Like hell I'm gonna wind up on my back!", he would shout aloud in his head. Quickly holstering his hammer, he would retract his limbs save for his feet into his shell, flaring up his jet boots briefly to reorient himself, entering a dizzing spin as he lands on the ground, charging at the echinda, his feet tucked in.

[Shell Slam]

A small trail of green and blue would follow the turtle, though he wasn't moving as swiftly as he could; he didn't rotate quickly enough to get a full burst of speed. Though initial charge may miss, the turtle was really aiming for a tree to bound off of behind his foe a few meters away, intent on turning the battlefield into his own personal pinball table, the echidna the primary target.

Actions: 1) Use jet boots to reorient Tutley upright. 2) Shell slam past terrador towards nearby tree.

Tutley's Inventory: lCl (active)

RE: Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Terrador Bellator - 12-09-2011 08:08 AM

As Tutley tucked into his shell, the momentum of Terrador's push had cuased him to lean forward. He managed to throw his body to the side to avoid the shell smash, dropping his weapon in the process. He took this oppurtunity to induce a side roll. As he preformed this manuver, dirt clung to his body which he compressed into rock, creating something similar to armor for extra protectection. He watched the turtle bounce around from tree to tree, but this proved tp be a difficult task considering how much the Rock Armor weighed him down. He was hoping the shell would come flying at him from th front so he can attempt to grab him

RE: Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Tutley Sakamoto - 12-10-2011 02:04 AM

[I find this disturbingly fitting for this round. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkwdVNDqtEc]

For the better part of a minute, anyone with a top-down view of the battlefield would confuse it for a pinball table, the turtle using his boots to launch off trees and rocks towards Terrador, doing much of nothing really but rattling the suit somewhat from his point of view. "This... is going nowhere. He's just as defensive as me!", the turtle exclaimed in his head. Sure he could try to wait out the armor to see if keeping it up kept a toll on the echinda, but wheres the fun in that? He would go on the offensive, and try to smash through it! He needed a distraction though... As he passed by on recurring launches, he would take note of the position of the various surrounding trees and shrubs. For a turtle with his partiular talent for attacking with his shell, he possessed a hightened sence of detection while in this state, able to see the world around him while a whirling dervish. Bounding off a rock, he would launch off one tree, richocheting out of sight into the shrubs. He would bounce off one of the checkered palm trees, then another, emerging from the shrubs in front of Terrador. Things wouldn't go as purely expected for the echindna, the turtle launching off a tilted rock sending him airborne. He would emerge from his shell, drawing his hammer. The shield around him would dissapate, being drawn into the hammer. "Eat this!", he would exclaim, a solid green aura surrounding his hammer.

[Shield Strike- Boosted hammer. 150% attack damage.]

As he brought the hammer down, he assumed that even if the armor absorbed the blow, it would rattle the rock armor pretty hard and affect its wearer!

Actions: 1) Redirect into shrubs out of sight. 2) Emerge and aim boosted hammer at rock armor.

Tutley's Inventoty: X (empty), (Added count for charge restore.) Recharge: 2/4 rounds.

RE: Sunset Showdown! Tutley vs Terrador - Terrador Bellator - 12-11-2011 10:05 AM

Terrador's temper increasedmore and more each time the shell would strike him. Tiny chuncks of the armor broke off from each hit, not even doing much. Although it was protecting him, it did keep him from getting his hands on the turtle.

Suddenly he vanished from sight. The Geomancer's uncovered emerald eyes scanned the area he was last seen. He suddenly burst into the air with his hammer held high over his head. Terrador couldn't move quick enough and that strike would most likely cuase more damage than he wanted. For the two seconds he had, he thought deeply. As Tutley approached, the echidna took a step back, completelty slipping out of the armor and leaving it still standing. Taking another step backwards, he also took a last second leap backwards and landed with a thud on his back, knocking the wind out of him in the process.
