The Road to Pittsdam - Cornelius - 11-16-2011 12:10 PM

For the very last time, I am –NOT- letting you out of those handcuffs!”

Cornelius let out a particular loud grunt as he tried to stretch his shoulders. The woman was beyond insufferable. All he wanted to know what had happened, and faster than the blue hedgehog himself managed to cuff him. He had to respect her tenacity, even though it was getting annoying. Not to mention he had found out over the last few days that people didn’t seem to like him very much. It was like suddenly he had the world’s largest foot in his mouth as even saying ‘hi’ got him glares of either hatred or fear. He’d heard before by some certain people that he did, in fact, sound like the father he never really knew; but it seemed he knew for certain now as it was only when he spoke did such events arise.

Oh,” He started, with pure snark coming from his lips “I love you too.”

The woman had been walking in front of him the entire time ( a bad move on her part, by the way as it made her such an easy target that he literally starting kicking himself for not taking the opportunity), but suddenly turned quickly to face Cornelius, pointing a gun at his face. She’d been –very- quick to get to that little thing during the week he’d had to spend with her. She didn’t seem to appreciate his jokes. Her face may have not been absolute rage, but he could –feel- it there. He got on her nerves, apparently. Which isn’t a very hard task.

“ You know, for a civil servant you seem to be pretty Trigger-Happy.” He replied dully, not seeming to be phased by the gun being pointing at him only a few inches away.

“Can’t you just be quiet for one minute?” Topaz said, trying to remain clam.

He admit tingly found it amusing just how much of his ‘charming personality’ got under her skin. She really needed to learn how to control those feelings. At least she seemed more disciplined than others.

I don’t know, can you stop pointing your gun at me every five seconds?”

She squinted her eyes as she looked far angrier than before, but in a defeatist sort of way. She lowered her weapon in defeat and for the first time seen her holsters it. Could it be? Could her paranoia –actually- be winding down? What a Twist!

She turned back around and started to walk back down the road. Rolling his eyes, he started to move forward again. He would comment on how it was going to be a long day, but he’d already said it a dozen times before. It was getting redundant. Thankfully there was a town just a little ways ahead. Not that it’d bring much relief for him though.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Twilight - 11-16-2011 06:44 PM

Meanwhile, a wolfbat was soaring high in the sky. He had no real sense of where he was going nor did he care for that matter. His name was Twilight, and he had just got run out of Central City a couple hours ago right after sunrise. The people had found he was responsible for all the mishaps that brought fear onto them.

That curse had been huanting him even more now that his "other self" could think for himself. He always had a feeling that damned wizard was still tracking him, but at this point, it didn't matter anymore. He just hoped wherever he was going won't be too populated.

His wings grew weary and the sight of a comfy tree cuaght his attention. He swooped in and plopped himself down on the grass in the shade. He let out a long sigh of relief as he folded his hands behind his head.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Cornelius - 11-17-2011 02:01 AM

The tree that Twilght had landed under was not too far away from the two. Topaz with curiosity started to run to get to the Mobian. She’d been seeing them a lot lately. Cornelius didn’t seem to care much though, as he continued his same slow pace.

“Hey!” Topaz called out as she waved her arm.

Now under the Tree, she stopped to catch a little. “Hello, how are you?”

Cornelius didn’t know whether he should keep quite or say something. People didn’t seem to like the sound of his voice very much. But he also felt like trying to get some help. Help being convincing the woman to get him out of these cursed handcuffs. Oh sure, by now he could have already been out of them. By now, he could have knocked her out and taken the keys for himself. By now, he could have been by-himself on the road. So why wasn’t he? Because he was just too damn nice.

He let out another grunt just thinking of it.

The crossbreed's eyes darted open at the sound of a voice. At first, he didn't know who it was for until a human female stepped foot under the tree. Considering what happened to him prior to arriving here, a human showing friendliness towards him was exactly what he needed. He looked at her with a puzzled look before shifting to a hearty smile.

"I'm good." He replied sitting up. "Just having a relaxing day. How about yourself?" He went on. His attention was breifly brought to the hadcuffed man in the distance. Many questions.formed in his mind, but he knew they would be answered in time.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Cornelius - 11-17-2011 02:45 AM

“I’ve had worse days.” She said with a sigh.

‘That’s it.’

He wasn’t going to go along with this anymore. For an entire week he’d hope that somehow she’d loosen up seeing as he was being so compliant (besides trying to get the handcuffs off). But it probably wasn’t going to happen. He shifted his hands around so that he could grab a link. Concentrating on his chi he started to bend the metal with his fingers; twisting it all the while. As soon as he would make it over to the tree the part of the link snapped and now all there was left to do was to push the one full link out.

Cornelius placed a hand on Topaz’s shoulder, her expression changing to complete shock. He bent over to be a little more at her height and pointed his other finger at her.

“-You’ve had worse days?! Try having some nut-cake lady arrest you for just speaking!”

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Twilight - 11-17-2011 02:53 AM

The wolfbat prepared to sleak, perhaps even ask the lady why. However, as the once hanfcuffed man made his approach, he simply stood back and watched the too. He couldn't speak anyways. Something about that man seemed all too familier and the sound of his voice wasn't helping any. It sent a chill down his spine just tryna think about it.

Topaz didn’t even speak; she simply did the one thing she knew how to do. Reach for her gun. But as she did she found that it was missing, and looked up to see it now in Cornelius’s left hand.

“Pfff, what you think I’m stupid or somethin’?” he gruffed out as took the clip out.

“H-Hey! Give that back!” She may haven trying to sound angry, but sounded more like distress. She hadn’t quite expected this, and it had happened so suddenly.

“Here.”

He held out the clip towards her, now holding the gun in his right hand. She looked at it with a shocked but somehow angry expression for a few seconds.

“That’s –not- my gun.” she stated coldly as she looked up at him.

“Oh yeah. Give back the empty gun to the woman who has more ammunition. That’s absolutely brilliant.” Cornelius looked over towards Twilight, giving him a snarky expression. He used his right hand (still holding the gun)to cover the left side of his face as he whispered sarcastically over to him. “Just so you know, she’s a little gun-happy….”

Topaz tried to jump up and forward to get her gun back, only for Nelius’s reflex to put his entire arm up in the air like he was playing keep away.

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Twilight - 11-17-2011 03:22 AM

Twilight was lost on what to do. The woman appeared to be an officer of some sort and she had just arrested this man, appearantly for speaking according to him. He didn't seem like a threat with his actions and almost seemed to be toying with her. Perhaps there was something he can do to help her, but at this moment, he had no idea. He simply stared at the gun wondering how things would turn out

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Cornelius - 11-17-2011 03:42 AM

(Umm, talking would be nice. xD I don’t like how it seems like I’m ignoring you)

He took a step away from her and placed the gun between his belt and pants behind him. He also took the chance to throw the clip gently towards Topaz. She did catch it though she was looking somewhat confused.

Nelius moved his head to the side where a small cracking nose could be heard before he moved his hands in front of him and stretching his arms out. His arms felt stiff from not being able to move since the past seven days. How anyone could stand it five minutes was beyond him.

“ O-kay. Have we now figured out that I am –not- a bad guy? Could we –possibly- start over and introduce ourselves–without you trying to arrest everyone in the world for living? HMMMM?

She didn’t say anything, she simply stared daggering at him while clenching her fist.

“ I’m Cornelius.” He didn’t hold his hand out, instead he just folded his arms.

There was a pause as Topaz seemed to be trying to calm down. “Topaz.”

“ Well, it was a absolute pleasure in meeting you Miss. Topaz, you seem to be the most understand person I’ve meet through this whole trip.”

He could practically see a vain popping out on her forehead. He looked over towards the bat. “And who would you be?”

RE: The Road to Pittsdam - Twilight - 11-17-2011 08:42 AM

(It's all good, I knew an intrduction was inevitable lol.)

Twilight watched the interaction between the two not knowing what to think. He also found out that the man's voice sounded identical to that of Robotnik's, something he hadn't heard in a while. There was also some sort if resemblence, but the wolfbat couldn't quite figure it out. Than again, he had only seen the docter's mug on various posters and television programs so he could be wrong. His pondering stopped as Cornelius adressed him.

"The name is Twilight, a pleasure to meet the both of you." He said with a smile as he got to his feet and exchanged looks between them.
