Teridere's Profile - Whip the Rabbit - 03-14-2011 10:09 AM So, I'm pitching another character idea out here, since my last pitch wasn't too good. If this character gets accepted, I'll go ahead and make an account for her. And I'd like to apologize right now for the large amount of similarities between her and a few of the characters from the anime "Elfen Lied", Although her powers are based off of that anime, the colouring and other details all came out of my head and may or may not be coincidentally similar. Name: Teridere. She likes being referred to as "Teri". Age: She's been alive for 8 years, but she's physically 16. (Excuse how young she looks in the artwork I'll post later down, for some reason I always seem to hit two years below what I'm attempting to draw) Sex: Female Species: Cat/Diclonius Mutation. Faction: Alignment: Neutral. Appearance: Her Appearance. Her Colours Her fur is a light pink, and, unlike the art makes it look, she doesn't have a skin muzzle. That was my bad. Her horns are pearly white, and the insides of her abnormally huge ears are white too. She's got red eyes, her shirt and shoes are black, her dress is a dark grey, and she doesn't have gloves or socks. Personality: Teridere usually gives off a first impression of being shy or quiet. But after getting to know her, she comes off as your average little girl. She can be a bit hyperactive, but she mainly keeps on a straight head. She loves sweets and other such junk foods, she likes dancing to songs she listens to, and has little understanding of a lot of things. However, the way she was raised, She can easily show a sadder side to herself. At one point, she was taken away from her family and never saw them again, so she has never felt the love of her parents. This doesn't bother her usually, but when the situation arises, she can seriously shut down because of it. The same situation also left her a little anti-social, but that doesn't usually hold her back very often. She always tries to do the right thing, but she is easily convinced otherwise and will do whatever someone she trusts tells her to do. She'll also do anything she's told to out of fear because she often underestimates her own strength. Family: She had a mother and a father, but she's never formally met them. Transport: Nothing. Weapons: She doesn't use weapons. Biography: Teridere was born with a mutation in her genetic code which made her grow two horns out of her head. This mutation was recorded, and she was allowed to leave with her family. But three years later, the records were veiwed by the government, and they immediately took her from her family and had her held in a high-security prison deigned to hold people born with her mutation. One day, four years after that, a newly captured diclonius had caused an uproar, and the same diclonius helped Teridere escape. After escaping, the two decided it'd be easier to evade governmental pursuit if they stayed on the streets and never caused any problems. After the Dimensional Rift thing, Teridere found herself alone and lost again. Now she's just trying to find her own way. Moves/Combat Style: Teridere is a middle to long ranged fighter. Since she is physically weak, she can't do much with her body. However, her mutation comes into effect, as she has the ability to control the space around her in the shape of six invisible arms, known as vectors. Her vectors are capable of piercing even cast iron if given the right amount of focus, and have a range of 3 and a half meters in a 120 degree angle in front of her, and a measly 2 meter diameter behind her. These vectors are easy to notice to the trained eye, however, as she has a habit of making them brush against things, break through things before hitting, or otherwise making them move so fast that they can be heard rushing against the air. Besides her vectors though, Teridere has no other means of fighting. Even though she looks and sometimes even acts like a teenager, she has the aggression and fighting expiriance of an 8 year old. Improvision: Teridere uses her vectors to pick up ANY object around her that isn't cemented to the ground and throws it. The smaller and more compact the object, the more bullet-like she can throw it. A pebble becomes a lethal weapon, but things like idle cars and the like also have their own advantages. Larger objects take two posts to throw because of having to swing the object to get any good distance, and she has to focus more vectors on them than on small things. If the field is empty, she can improvise further by digging a chunk of earth out of the ground and throw that, although literal earth is loose and powdery, this works well with things like sidewalk-blocks and such. An obvious draw back to this move is that she can't use it very effectively within the 3 and a half meter range, because the strength comes from the wind up, not just a random launch. She's also left open after throwing something big, because she tends to think she actually has to make the motion of throwing, so she'll act as if she just picked up and tossed a slab of concrete or rock or whatever, despite not actually touching the object. She can also mentally exert herself from trying this too often, especially with larger object, and will take a breather after throwing a bit of objects. She usually signals this move by making things float in the air, or otherwise dust and debris emitting from the ground. Platform: Teridere doesn't like doing this, but she can use her vectors like invisible platforms to step over otherwise unaccessible areas. Two things though, one, she herself has to control the platforms, so standing them still is a problem since they could easily flop and drop her. Another problem is that she has to slow while doing this. There are too many factors in making a platform with her mind, so she has to act as if she's on a catwalk while doing so. If she runs, she may mess up and step on nothing. She usually signals this by slowing her walk to a crawl, and sometimes sticking her arms out for balance. Protection: Teridere can use her vectors to form an invisible shield infront of her, blocking her all around her eye-range. Nothing short of a .5 calibur round is capable of breaking through, though she can be frightened out of it by means of a loud, sudden noise. She's not immune to sound or pushback though, so ballistics still retain a bit of usefulness. This ability can also be worn down by constant assault, and heavier attacks will wear it out even faster. However, this can be a dangerous move, because if she catches an opening, the opponent would be within range for her to unleash an attack. She usually signals her use of this with her arms crossing over her shoulders in an X formation. Reversal: In a sort of mixture of Protection and Improvision, Teridere can catch a projectile that fits under her Protection's limits, and then throw it back at the opponent. This takes a bit more effort from Teridere because she has to be able to catch the projectile instead of block it, like Protection does, and then throw it back with the same drawbacks at Improvision. However, this can be an easy ammunition feed for her if her opponent decides to fire and run, and can force direct combat with more finicky characters. This can be overwhelmed though, because she's literally catching them with things she can't technically see. Although it's easy for a few things, in a high-speed and high-numbered barrage, she has a higher chance of slipping up and getting hit. Rebounding larger objects also take a fair few seconds (About two posts) to rebound due to their sheer size and, if it's literally being thrown, velocity and the difficulty of being stopped, and she'd be open during this time. She usually signals this by making catching movements. She'll continue the movement, even if she's already caught the object before she could start. Vector Hurricane Teridere's strongest attack. Her vectors ignore all lengths and indent a large circle one meter out everywhere around her. Once the circle has appeared, She forces the vectors to spin around haphazardly at full speed around her like a cyclone, ripping up everything around her appropriately. During this attack, nothing, not even the normal weaknesses, are able to penetrate her vectors and the loud sound of a cyclone drowns out any voices that try to reach her. The move lasts for only a few seconds(One warning post, one start up, one or two attacking posts, and one cool down post), and can be stopped by a quick hit to her forehead, but leaves a devastating effect on anything and anyone caught in it. Once she finishes this attack, she runs out of breath and will have to catch her breath again, leaving her wide open to anything that manages to stay conscious. She also risks giving herself a migraine, which for her, would mean the end of her vectors until she recovers. She usually signals this move by the large indented circle that appears on the floor around her. She can be seen performing the move when large amounts of dust are kicked up and cycling around her, and she also tends to spin on her tip-toe in the process. Skills: Teridere has a pretty good knack of avoiding battles altogether, her cute charm combined with her naivety can be unnerving sometimes. Strengths: She's fairly good at garnering sympathy, but besides that and her vectors, she doesn't have any strengths. Weaknesses: *Cracks fingers* Teridere herself has many weaknesses. She's not a very fast runner, she's not physically strong, she's just an average girl. Her vectors themselves, powerhouses as they may seem, have a few weaknesses too. For one, Her vectors can be pierced by .5 calbur bullets. These types of bullets go through her defenses like glass, which leaves her very vulnerable. She also only has six vectors, so while this seems like she can handle any situation, attempting to take care of more than six distractions effectively makes her confused and she becomes unable to use them for a few seconds. Another way of cancelling out her vectors is causing her any amount of pain. When in pain, she's incapable of using her vectors at all. The long-lasting the pain, the longer she can't use them. Her horns are a more permanent cause of this. Chipping one of her horns causes her an intense amount of pain and usually is enough to keep her out of battle. Breaking a horn will render her unconscious, and she won't wake up for as long as it takes for the horn to re-grow, which is usually a few months. Breaking both horns will kill her instantly. Her horns are about as hard as bone, so keep that in mind. And finally, large amounts of mental stress are capable of making her randomly unable to use her vectors. Other information: Her Vectors: Vectors, when speaking of the phenomena that occurs with the Diclonius mutation, are a number of, in this case six, metavisual arms created by an unspecified part of the brain. The vectors are literally nothing more than an invisible hand/arm combination that diclonius are able to control. They differ from normal arms in that they can't be touched at all, but they can touch and become intangible at will. They have incredibly multiplied strength and speed, and are capable of many things one could not normally do. However, in Teridere's case, her own hesitation drastically weakens the vectors strength when directed towards a living person. That's not saying much, as they are still very powerful, but she doesn't deal with killing very lightly and has been able to mentally control how powerful the vectors are. As listed in the combat section, vectors have incredible protecting capabilities, but can be overpowered. So... That's it. Is she any good? Are there any problems? Is she too strong? Too cliche? Any criticism would be appreciated. RE: Teridere's Profile - Nail Strafer - 03-17-2011 02:34 AM Approved by Nail and Rose. |
