Ajiryn - Ajiryn - 11-20-2009 04:15 PM Name: Ajiryn (ah-JEER-rin) (Flick the 'R'.) Age: Assumed to be 17. Sex: Male. Species: Red Fox (Small bit of Arctic from mother's side.) Appearance: ![]() Typical Red Fox phenotype, with a very light structure. He boasts a fine but often ruffled coat of red fur, dark tips rounding out his fingers and ears, while his muzzle and tail end in a white pattern. Wears standard brown leather boots, and slightly worn out slacks, with several pockets to stash money, small items, or whatever he just stole. Dirt-covered gloves are a must! Top attire consists of lightweight body armor, and a black long coat, well worn but also well made for stashing pilfered goods. A scarf adorns the neck, and upon his head rests a tattered bandanna. Two slits allow for his ears to poke through, and it covers a good portion of his head from the sweltering heat inside the shop. The bandanna is used to keep his bangs from obstructing his sight. Personality: Ajiryn is, for the most part, very cheerful and mild person. Ajiryn puts up an adventurous, heroic front of the utmost bravado; which doesn't really seem possible, when considering his small size. He sincerely believes that it is he obligation to protect anyone in need of defending. Most times, by doing this, he ends up being the one that needs saving. Being the thief he is, Ajiryn seems to openly scorn authorities, but secretly, he admires the upholders of the law. With his world seemingly changed forever, Ajiryn now lives for the thrill of travel, and he likes to think of himself as quite the adventurer. He is actually a very capable fighter, but due to his light frame, he cannot take physical hits very well. Nevertheless, he hopes to find himself a purpose in the world. Fascinated by combat, and is always trying to improve himself, Ajiryn can often be an instigator of fights. Ajiryn is a sly and clever one, though; This might be what kept him from getting himself killed all these years. His main grudge against life is his inability to remember if 'Ajiryn' was actually his real name- he often doubts it, since the name does not exist in any language he can look up. Alignment: Hero with the tendency to commit the occasional theft. Family: ???: Mother (Unknown status- presumed deceased) Ajiryn hasn't seen his mother since early childhood, but once found her photo album and financial books when he returned to his abandoned home after years of being separated as a family. The only clues these ever presented were her struggles with debt and happened to also be a good provider. His fondness for her continues in sparse memories he's retained over time, but he can't seem to actually remember calling her anything but 'Mom'. The photos are unmarked and the books never seemed to mention her name at all. Unknown to him, she fell victim to a comatose-state a year after his departure, and is currently under the private care of a certain mafia-don successor... Darios Corallo (?): Father (Imprisoned/Deceased) Rifling through his home, Ajiryn found an odd array of newspaper articles, presumably collected by his Mother. After perusing the text, he found what he thought could be his father- unfortunately, the black and white photograph showed this person in cuffs, being pushed along against a blurred background. Of what he has heard from other people, Ajiryn has pieced together bits of the man's history- He was a mobster who had been the right hand man of Alphonse Tiedrich, an apparently previously news-breaking mafia lord known for particularly gruesome methods of disposing his political enemies. After being arrested minutes after a downtown gun fight with a rival mob, it was revealed that the man had been running his business under the name of his first whack, a victim that the media had just about given up on discerning the culprit behind the murder. 'Darios Corallo', the only name anyone knew for the fox, attempted a jail break the same night, causing another shoot out. Whether he escaped or died in the commotion, no one knows what happened to the mobster- Ajiryn assumed it for the best that he halt any search for this one. Darios: (Elder brother, currently estranged) Darios Jr., a scholarly and reserved brother, had left Ajiryn with another family after discovering a link between their deadbeat father and a man who riled the local editorials with shock and concern. Ajiryn still has quite a few fond memories of his older brother, who explained many of life's intricacies in ways no one else could- but he hasn't seen him since Darios took off on his own. One of Ajiryn's main reasons for becoming an adventurer is the thought of being reunited with Darios, who nicknamed him 'Ajiryn' and gave him his keepsake name that he uses in lieu of a real one. Transport: Has no means of transport other than, well, foot. He's been known to hitch a ride if he can, sometimes earning himself the title, 'Stowaway'. Equipment: Arch Lancer - A slender, slightly battle damaged weapon that resembles a rifle whose barrel has been sharpened to a razor sharp extension. Custom built by Ajiryn and his pride and joy, the Arch Lancer is able to fire .50 AE rounds for a mid range snipe. If a certain situation calls for close combat, the Arch Lancer can be used as a blade. Though he has a good bit of knowledge about sword play, Ajiryn has little experience in the way of arms training: Recoil from the AE shots put quite a bit of strain on the the blade, and there's a good chance a shot from the Ares Lancer will never strike the same place twice due to his mediocre accuracy. The recoil will sometimes throw Ajiryn off balance, causing him to stagger mid-battle. The weapon has to be light and slender in order to keep from weighing down Ajiryn; Therefore, a well placed hit may very well disable or shatter the weapon. Razor Yo-yo - A child's toy made unsafe for children by adding razor edges to form a octagon star around the shell. Potentially lethal but still only used in emergencies where no other weapon is available to him. Ajiryn mainly uses this as a psuedo-grapple, flinging it far and pulling himself across the length. The further he throws it, the further he can pull himself across. Sticks great to metal, concrete, clay, woodm and rock, bu leaves something to be desired on more natural surfaces like dirt, as it falls out after gouging a hole. Contains small metal parts- not recommended for children with any sense of safety. Reflector Shield - Not exactly a weapon yet. Small gadget Ajiryn has been working on. Barely a prototype, this piece of equipment can not yet be relied upon. Hidden in Ajiryn's left sleeve, below the wrist, it can be activated by pressing the respective switch on the bracelet. Much to Ajiryn's dismay, the reflector can't block many things that the reflector should be able to; Actual bullets can pierce and disrupt the shield, and larger projectiles smash through, no problem. Every time the shield fails, a jolt is sent through Ajiryn's body, making this rather useless. A pet project at best. Pepper Shaker - Located in one of various pockets, Ajiryn carries this simply because he likes pepper on his food. Hey, you would too, if you love eggs the way he did. Only actual weapon usage would be to throw it at someone; but why do that when you can use it to eat? Weapon Weaknesses: The Arch Lancer has a possibility of breaking if hit hard enough, and causes some fatigue on Ajiryn's arms after awhile. The recoil often throws Ajiryn off balance, and is tricky to fire while standing perfectly rooted to the spot; Running shots are almost impossible, as they will most certainly topple Ajiryn. The razor yo-yo can cause havoc in a fight- but not necessarily in a good way. Controlling a toss is easy by himself, but closed spaces and crowded areas mean he can't use this without accidentally slicing someone else, possibly an ally. The Reflector Shield just doesn't work. The Pepper Shaker... is... a pepper shaker... Can't do much there. Biography: Ajiryn was the second son of Darios Corallo and the ambiguous arctic vixen he only knew as 'Mom'. Family relations took an awkward turn as his father was soon arrested when it was discovered he had heavy ties to the city's most fearsome mafia ring. Investigations drew his mother into the case, and it was discovered that everything about his father's history, character, and life was a hoax- he was nothing he claimed to be. Even after the media had reported the breakout orchestrated by Darios Corallo, the family did not ever hear from him again. After his fifth birthday, his mother's health started to deteriorate, until she was left in no condition to watch over him and his older brother, who was named after his father. Darios, infuriated by his father's recklessness and inconsideration to leave their mother in such a fragile state, swore that he'd make his deadbeat father pay, where ever he had run of to. The unrestrained youth left days later. {Editing~} Moves: Kaiser Lancer - The Arch Lancer is thrust forward at the same time Ajiryn's summons up an non-elemental force, causing an outburst with considerable range. This weakens Ajiryn a little bit. The first burst can extend well over 12 ft, but is soon diminished to a weak 1 ft extension after a few uses. [Range from the tip of a weapon (uses/range): 0/12ft, 1/10ft, 2/7ft, 3/3ft, 4+/1ft.] Elemental Abilities: Fireball - Just as the name implies, it is supposed to be a fireball... but in the hands of Ajiryn, not quite. Due to his rather poor use of fire elemetals, recent tries has resulted in his arm going ablaze. Burn treatment isn't exactly all too uncommon to him nowadays. A great cut-off technique on the holidays and weekends this magic DOES work. Inferno Lancer - Similar to Kaiser Lancer, but with the elemental property of Fire. Launches a giant fire bolt toward a given direction. Consumes too much energy to be used regularly, and often burns Ajiryn himself is not controlled. [Range from the tip of a weapon (uses/range): Any/+10ft of Kaiser Lancer] Team Moves: Body Swing [Ajiryn/Semyl Lowell] - The weapon is a dude, dude? Taking after her brother, Semyl sometimes likes to grab objects near her and swing brutally. Unfortunately, sometimes the object is another person. Whether being swung by a leg, an arm, or by his waist, Ajiryn seems to make for a very good blunt object. After enough years of 'practice', the two can swing the other without causing too much head trauma. Ajiryn usually ends up being the wielded. False Witness [Ajiryn/Kazuki] - Lying is morally bad, but gets results when you tell a certain girl that the baddie said her music sucked... A sure way to put Kazuki in a rage, and an even better way to let her do all the work. Hell truly hath no fury like a woman scorned. Combat Style: Ajiryn is inexperienced, but has the high potential of being a capable fighter. Everything about him is lightweight, from his physical self to his weapons. He's a clever one, and won't hesitate to use any of his surroundings to win a fight. There are many things about his style that prove risky. His inexperience and recklessness, added with the possibility that a number of things can backfire on him, and you have one heck of a Pandora's Box on legs. Everything considered, he has the potential to do more damage to himself than his opponent, if he isn't careful enough. He hopes that his swiftness and planned execution of his actions will compensate for these drawbacks. Skills: Capable level of Mechanical/Technological knowledge. Dabbles in first aid for minor injuries. Excellent tactical and strategy knowledge. Usually the coordinator of attacks. Excellent skill of stealth and thievery. Limited knowledge of the elements. Very limited use of the element of Fire. Good knowledge of what tastes good with black pepper. Odd ability to discern priceless items from junk. Strengths: Being a capable fighter, he can put up quite a resistance when he wants to. His small frame and speedy nature allows for thievery and eluding at ease. His use of his equipment and planning of his actions proves him to be a force to be reckoned with. Ajiryn recognizes that speed is not enough, and uses quick thinking to get out of trouble. Weaknesses: Ajiryn is constantly getting himself into more trouble than he knows how to get out of. Due to his lightweight frame, he can't take hits very well, so if a blow DOES connect, he becomes injured very quickly. His actual proficiency with a gun is still at the level of a novice. He also has a slight weakness against females; one could persuade him easily to do anything if she charms him enough. Plus, he has a bad habit of not thoroughly testing any new works he's come out with; Many times, this has resulted in his gadgets backfiring. Due to his slacking in recent years, Ajiryn is very poor at wielding Fire, and even at that, he will most likely scorch himself rather than the target. Recklessness is not much of a problem, but others would consider him a bit crazy sometimes. Is he? ...Like a fox.
