RE: The Jungle - Gail Strafer - 08-17-2014 11:18 AM

Gail looked down at Giichi, feeling a little confused. That was a weird way to open a conversation. Nonetheless how could you forget fighting a demonic knight and a witch? He easily remembered the incident now. And he also recalled Giichi had been around for some reason.

"Yeah, I'm Gail."

He waited for Giichi to say something else, but then the cat just stood there waiting for him to say something else.

"Well..." he started awkwardly. "How have you been? I've been up to all kindsa tomfoolery since the last time I met you. Been going on all these adventures to fight Robotnik." Now he was starting to get into the stride of the conversation, since he had something to brag about. "Yeah...I've been in like three or four different battles since I got here. But my son over here still thinks I'm not cut out for fighting."

"Hard to believe he's your son, isn't it?"

"You're tellin' me. It feels like the other way around."

"You know, if you wanna go with Nail, maybe you should try acting more like him. Be a little more quiet and understated. Don't shout. Show that you're more disciplined than he thinks you are. You might have gotten through battles before, but I'm surprised you're still here if you act like this, no offense."

Gail frowned, but he supposed Giichi may have been right. He hadn't contributed much of anything to the past few battles he'd been in. In fact he'd mostly acted as the load at times. Maybe now it was time to show everyone he was serious, and that he could shape up into a mature person.

"Okay Giichi," Gail smiled. "I'll keep that in mind. Let's just wait until Nail's done talking about whatever it is over there."

"Don't you think we should be listening in? What they're talking about sounds important."

"Guess you're right." Gail realized he had a lot to learn, as they wandered over to hear Nail talk.

Quote:"I gotta admit, I don't feel too good about it either. I had a hard time keeping up with what you were saying, but from what I gather they're the bad guys in your timeline, but now they're the good guys for some reason and they've taken the place of your old faction. I would give my opinion, but let's face it, I'm an outsider in this matter. Still though, maybe I can help us work through this sensibly. If we don't cooperate with them, what do you think the consequences would be? What do we have to lose?"

Amiroo smiled innocently, "Honesty some of it flew over my head. I know some things about how matter interacts with space time, I was a port gate technician once upon a time, but that was just *swish*" he said making gesture over his head.

"I think that they're supposedly from an alternate timeline where the Yudanese are the good guys...and we're the bad guys. I guess the merge would explain that. But I mean come on, what are the odds of encountering a supposedly good version of a faction you've been fighting for years? It's astronomical...I don't even think numbers have any right to go that high."

Amiroo looked over at the Yudanese soldiers with suspicious eye. "I don't know how they'd react to being told no. Do you think it would be wise?"

RE: The Jungle - Nail Strafer - 08-19-2014 12:11 PM

"I got no idea how they'd react to no. I'm not a dinosaur." He cast another glance at the Yudanese raptors.

"They definitely could have killed or captured us all already if they wanted to do that. If we cooperate with them, I think we will be safe at least until myself and the other..." Nail rolled his eyes, as he couldn't believe he was about to say this, "...mammals do whatever they need us to do. That's the crucial point where we will need to be alert.

"Remember how they said your group could go to one site and their group would go to another site? What if the site they send your team to is a decoy? The guy they send with you might be a sacrificial lamb. We should probably insist that both teams are equal parts Yudanese and your group. If a fight breaks out, at least we will be evenly matched on both sides."

RE: The Jungle - Gail Strafer - 08-19-2014 12:19 PM

Gail watched as Amiroo and Nail continued to talk strategy. He folded his arms, feeling a little bored with all of this whispering. He just wanted to get on with their next adventure. These Yudanese raptors were good people. They'd treated himself and Nail well. He didn't see what the problem was. They'd gotten him and Nail out of the city hadn't they?

However, seeing Nail limping a bit on his leg reminded him of his own injuries. Plus he'd run out of ammo for his revolver and he needed a new weapon. Without thinking much of it, he walked right over to the Yudanese raptors and started talking to them.

"I dunno why they're so afraid of ya'll. You seem like nice folks. Think you could heal me up too? I got beat up pretty bad in Robotropolis. Plus I need a new gun, if ya got one."

RE: The Jungle - Giichi Twinkieland - 08-19-2014 12:22 PM

Giichi felt himself going tense as Gail casually walked over to the Yudanese raptors and started casually chatting them up. Didn't he realize how serious this situation was? With the way he spoke, Giichi figured maybe it's because he came from a small town where everyone knew each other and acted like a big family. He never had to worry about people stabbing him in the back or anything. Gail was far too quick to trust and make himself vulnerable.

Giichi decided he would wander over and keep a close eye on the wolf, in case he said something stupid.

The guy they send with you might be a sacrificial lamb. We should probably insist that both teams are equal parts Yudanese and your group. If a fight breaks out, at least we will be evenly matched on both sides."

"That's actually not a bad idea. But our group has a whole spectrum of skill sets. Who would we send with who? I mean Rye and Amero....." Amiroo suddenly stopped talking mid-sentence as he watched Gail walk over to the Yudanese soldiers. "what is he doing?"

Quote:"I dunno why they're so afraid of ya'll. You seem like nice folks. Think you could heal me up too? I got beat up pretty bad in Robotropolis. Plus I need a new gun, if ya got one."

"WHAT IS HE DOING!?" Amiroo said harshly through grit teeth.

The Yudanese raptors looked at Gail with amused looks on their faces. They talked amongst one another a moment in Saurian and then tried to talk to Gail, though it was apparent that they didn't speak any Mobian. However, that didn't stop one of them from throwing a water balloon improvised from a latex glove at Gails face triggering a uproar of laughter from the Yudanese soldiers.

RE: The Jungle - Nail Strafer - 08-23-2014 11:03 AM

"You'll just have to think about how to split the teams then but..." Nail followed the trail of Amiroo's eyes. "Oh...great."

Should he step in to stop Gail? It might inflame the situation if he did. But then he saw one of the Yudanese raptors doing something with a latex glove, and slowly walked over.

RE: The Jungle - Gail Strafer - 08-23-2014 11:12 AM

Gail maintained a friendly face as the Yudanese smiled at him, but then they started discussing something amongst themselves in their native language. The smile quickly faded.

"Hey...why aren't ya'll speakin' Mobian? I know you can! That girl talked to me in Mobian! Talk to me in my own language."

Then one of them tossed a makeshift water balloon at him. While Gail didn't have much social intelligence, he still had the trained reflexes he picked up being an underground pit fighter. As soon as he saw the balloon flying at him out of the corner of his eye, he immediately ducked his head to the side. It flew right past, going over his shoulder and nicking the fur on the side of his face. Gail looked surprised at first, but quickly narrowed his eyes.

"HEY! What the hell was that?!"

He started marching over to sock one of them in the jaw, but then two sets of hands grabbed him from behind on his shoulders.

"Gail, don't do it,"
Nail whispered in his ear coolly. "We need to be on friendly terms with these guys."

"But they threw that thing at me!"
Gail snarled over his shoulder, staring down at his future son.

"Let it go. It doesn't mean anything."

"It doesn't mean anything?! If I don't do something they'll do it again later!"

RE: The Jungle - Giichi Twinkieland - 08-23-2014 11:20 AM

On Gail's right, Giichi held onto Gail's other shoulder.

"Gail, it might just be their idea of a harmless prank,"
Giichi whispered, trying to keep his tone relaxed in contrast to the much harsher one Nail adopted. "This might be a culture clash, you know? Besides, they probably WANT you to get mad. The madder you get the more fun they have."

Giichi cast an aside glance to Nail.

"I'll see if I can go talk to them."

Once Gail had relaxed a bit, Giichi walked forward in front of him.

I'm real glad Nail's here to whip Gail into shape. That wolf might think he's a man, but he's got a lot to learn.

In any case, Giichi took a deep breath and started talking to the Yudanese.

"Listen, which of you speaks Mobian?" He looked around for the female Yudanese raptor who had been speaking it before. Once she appeared, he would begin talking again. "If you need our help, I don't think pranks are going to make us want to work with you. Like everyone's been saying, this situation is serious and we don't have time for games. I think it's best if we stay on each other's good sides, don't you think? Otherwise the bad guys have a big edge on us already."

He paused, giving the words a chance to sink in.

"Now, seriously, do you think you can help Gail here? He needs some medical help like Nail does, and he needs a weapon."

RE: The Jungle - Echo - 08-28-2014 06:25 AM

[sorry for the delay. I've had a wicked case of writers block.]

The raptors made faces at Gail as he was held back, "ooooooo" they all taunted shaking their hands in mock fear. That was, until the female raptor from before jumped out of the back of the ship they had arrived on. Seeing what was happening, she immediately stomped over screaming bloody murder. The raptors immediately snapped to attention. She looked them each over with a stern, slightly crazy stare. She said a few things in saurian to them, and by the sound of her tone, they weren't nice things. Eventually though, satisfied that they were back in check, she turned her attention to Gichii.

" I apologize for their behavior. They're young and have been cooped up in a small ship for a couple weeks getting to this planet. I assure you they meant nothing by it."

Quote:"Now, seriously, do you think you can help Gail here? He needs some medical help like Nail does, and he needs a weapon."

"Of course" Said chief Jimmiree, seeming to have snuck up behind Gichii and the others. Amiroo had chosen that moment to position himself behind Jimmiree..just in case.

"we'd be more than happy to render aid." He said gesturing to one of the raptors, who quickly grabbed a med pack.

"Also, Chief Jimmiree, me and Nail would like a word with you" Amiroo said

Jimmiree turned a curious look to Amiroo, and then to Nail, "of course"
