Billy Walker - Billy Walker - 12-16-2013 03:43 PM Name: William James Walker Age: 15 Sex: Male Species: Bilby (1/4 Rabbit) Faction: None Alignment: Hero Appearance: Picture Billy has red fur with a bare muzzle, hazel eyes and a black button nose. There is an oval patch of white fuzzy fur on his chest. Long streaking yellow hair runs down his back to below his waist. William's simple straight tail is a little more than arm's length, with a wide black ring around the center(A natural bilby trait). His rabbit-like red ears droop forward in front of his head but don't cover his vision since they do go up at an incline above his head for about half of their length. His ears aren't like his father's stiff bilby ears due to a random genetic defect from his rabbit blood. Billy also has long but tightly muscular legs in contrast to his very thin arms and soft upper body. For clothing the teenage bilby always wears dark beige and slightly baggy pants with pockets on the sides in which he keeps his hands, rarely taking them out for anything beyond simple tasks such as opening doors. His pants are held at his waist by a black leather belt with a bronze rectangular buckle. Black socks going into red shoes with black covers on the heels, grey soles and a grey metallic cover over the lower half to protect his toes. Metal knee pads with black straps are a constant accessory for Billy. Personality William Walker is often viewed as a loner because of his slouched posture and bored expression. In truth he would repay any kindness shown towards him but doesn't feel the need to go out of his way to earn it himself. It is possible for there to be people he would often talk to or hang out with for fun, but he never seems to get especially close to anyone and even sometimes has trouble remembering the names of others due to his forgetfulness. He doesn't forget too much too often, or very important things, but often a name or a certain time will be lost to him if he isn't given a reminder for a while. Billy believes in basic morals and will get involved if he sees others breaking rules, which had given him a generally bad reputation among the kids in his home town. If Billy sees people getting bullied or picked on he gets especially upset and sometimes even resorts to violence if he is prodded in such a situation, though he's usually quick to apologize and take the blame after he gets a chance to cool off. He was never overly bullied himself in the past, the boy has simply always hated seeing weaker people suffer like that since it is against his accepted moral code. Billy's favourite class in school was physical education, thus he knows a lot about general health and first aid. His least favourite classes were the sciences such as biology and chemistry. Anything high tech also tends to be beyond his realm of comprehension. He has always had a fondness for older, simpler things. William was often playfully teased by his family and his few friends for his simple tastes, given how he can't handle eating anything the least bit spicy and that his favourite foods are sandwiches. Unlike most teenagers Billy doesn't pay much attention to television, media or even a lot of common cultural knowledge. Usually others are amazed by his complete lack of knowledge on a famous person or movie. His interests usually include just walking around by himself and thinking. The reason he thinks is because he doesn't yet know what he's going to do with his life and it often worries him. This was common even before the world as he knew it was lost and the new one has only given Billy reason to worry more since then. Billy has always respected Sonic and his lifestyle for two reasons. One is that it alignz with Billy's own ideals of justice and another is that it proves Sonic already has his goal and purpose in life, which Billy feels he lacks. This is, however, simple respect for a well known hero and Billy doesn't spend any amount of time actually thinking about Sonic, just whenever he sees a reminder of the hero or when some disaster that Sonic helps with occurs. Family James Aaron Walker, father. missing. Sarah Essman-Walker, mother, missing. Seth Walker, grandfather, missing. Transport: None. Weapons: Steel-toed shoes & metal knee pads. Biography Billy was a simple teenager for the most part. He lived with his parents and went to high school like most kids. In school he didn't really excel in any classes but managed to get by. His father James was a carpenter in his own shop while his mother ran the business end of the family store. Billy has attempted to learn his father's work a few times in his life but never stuck with it. His carpentry skills remain amateur. Billy's family is a tight-knit one and his parents do sometimes worry about their son's loner personality, which he developed at around age eleven, but he was still open with them. Because his parents sometimes work late Billy often ended up staying with his grandfather Seth Walker after school from a very early age because the man lived only a few blocks away from their home. Seth owned and lived in his own dojo where he taught basic martial arts to youngsters who wished to learn self defence. Sometimes Billy joined in while waiting to go home but quickly outgrew his grandfather's usual class, both in age and skill, since he got repeated practice. Of course, these were just the basics so he wasn't a real martial artist in any way. He simply had nothing left to learn from the simple course. At age thirteen during a stay at the dojo Billy got bored and started looking around his grandpa's old books and trinkets. Eventually he came across a book about an ancient type of martial arts, which had several different styles that an individual could choose from to master. He got curious and started practicing on his own while his grandfather was busy. Ultimately, William James Walker failed miserably at actually teaching himself anything. His naturally weak upper body was useless for most styles and his low endurance caused him some injuries when the foolish youth attempted styles of high defence. Luckily Billy didn't attempt anything too serious in his foolishness and wasn't injured in any permanent way. Right before he was about to give up after a few frequent visits, solo training, and recovery sessions he finally found something he was able to do, if not impressively. It was a style restricted to using nothing but the legs and feet for both offense and defence. Because of his naturally strong bilby legs and weak upper body this was actually a perfect match. Billy was still a kid, though, and after finding a style he liked he rarely spent any time actually practicing. Over the next few years he would develop a greater interest. If his sense of morality happened to be challenged on a particular day, like hearing about street gangs committing crimes for example, he would run to the dojo and start practicing to blow off steam. Now at age 15, Billy still practices his martial arts but it's not a scheduled or common event, mainly due to his lack of a goal in life. His grandfather has done some training with him on occasion but nothing special. Still, his naturally strong legs make the style a bit more powerful than it would be for others at his skill level. In the end though Billy won't fight meaningless battles so he usually ends up using his skills to run and evade whenever he can, or just accepts beatings in place of other people. One night while wandering around Radical City Billy came across a lady getting mugged and managed to rescue her. After making sure she was safe he chased the guy instead of letting him go, which would have been the smart thing to do, because he was feeling excited from helping someone at the time. Because the guy got a head start he managed to get to a nearby alley before Billy's speed allowed him to catch up. Unfortunately Billy was led to some of the mugger's fellow street gang members. It was the first time Billy actually fought as hard as he could against an opponent when the gang attempted to show him not to mess with them. Billy was able to fight very well and defeat several of them but when a a failed leg guard maneuver got him bashed in the knee he was stunned and severely beaten by the remaining members until the police arrived. He was heavily scolded by his parents for his overconfidence afterwards, tempered slightly because they approved of his initial attempt to help the woman. After that event he still had mixed feelings about his future since he loved helping but felt foolish for going in over his head and getting plenty of injuries. Billy still hasn't realized that he could actually be a great fighter if he put in the many years worth of training. He continued to walk around town aimlessly most days, pondering whether or not he might do with his life. He knew at that point that no matter what he chose to do he would never get over his strong instinct to protect other people, and that acceptance gave him some peace. Then the world as he knew it ended. Billy has wandered the new world as a vagabond for some time, confused and afraid. He has no idea where his family members are and searches for them endlessly but is constantly side-tracked by trying to help out his fellow wanderers and civilians from the dangers of their new lives, becoming more capable and powerful as time passes. Moves/Combat Style: Billy's martial arts styles makes his kicks exceptionally strong. He has no special attacks at this time. Skills Billy's naturally strong bilby legs have been refined to unusually powerful levels, even before the world's exposure to chaos and sol energy began to empower them further. Billy does also have a useful talent. Because he often spends time alone thinking, especially while walking around, Billy has honed a natural ability to maintain an alert state and keep aware of his surroundings without sight or presence of mind. During a fight he naturally uses this to not lose focus, even if an unexpected event might occur such as a nearby explosion or sudden enemy reinforcements. As a result Billy is quite good at the evasive side of his style, able to simply avoid most attacks instead of blocking them unless the attacks are of a skill, speed or number that he couldn't reasonably cope with. One thing Billy has trained a bit more than other aspects of his fighting style is jumping. While able to leap several time his height at the drop a hat, if he takes a moment to crouch and tighten his leg muscles he can launch himself to the rooftops of small buildings. Chaining quick jumps in alternating directions and bouncing off of vertical surfaces are also techniques he has honed for helping get around his home city. When Billy absolutely needs to move at top speed he uses a method of movement he calls Jump Dashing. This is performed by executing almost perfectly horizontal jumps in constant repetition. He can immediately changes to direction by pushing off the ground again at any time even before each individual stride is complete. Using Jump Dashing Billy can either cross long distances at speeds rivaling most vehicles or bounce himself around small spaces like a pinball. Billy also knows basic carpentry which he learned from his dad. The boy can get by if something needs a simple fix but his weak arms often make it a hassle for him. Strengths The support of family or friends can usually get Billy through rough times and compensate for the many weaknesses in his personality. Billy can stay calm during a crisis, either by believing in the people fighting against it or by fighting against it himself. Billy usually fights with great determination, if not confidence, because he only fights when standing up for what he believes to be right. Billy is very loose and agile, making him good at evading dangers. Weaknesses It isn't easy for Billy to make friends due to his poor communication skills. Billy can usually be beaten up if simply attacked since he has no reason to fight with conviction. If the cause to fight isn't appealing to him but he is forced into conflict without the chance to escape then he simply can't find the will to fight at his best. The sign of whether Billy is actually accepting of a fight is his hands. If he fights out of requirement they remain in his pockets, as they usually are, since he doesn't technically need them even for blocking. If he takes his hands out it means that he is keeping proper form and balance in mind and will use all of the maneuvers he can to win. Despite his massively powerful lower body, Billy weak upper body can be taken advantage of by intelligent and skilled opposition. Billy will always run in for a good cause, even if it's too much for him to handle. His sense of self-preservation is always overpowered by his protective instincts. If fighting for any reason other than for some sense of justice then Billy's confidence in himself takes a serious nosedive. What truly hurts Billy though is that if there are others already fighting for a cause that he would also stand up for then he still loses confidence the same way. He simply expects anyone else who would try to do so to be better than himself at protecting others. Billy relies very heavily on all of his senses in combat, especially unconsciously, and can be even more disadvantaged than most if they are impeded by loud noises, darkness, or the like. Depending on the level of impediment Billy's fighting style will become slower and sloppier at a higher rate than an average person's. Because of his style, even if Billy defends an attack with his legs it will simultaneously wear down his defensive and offensive capabilities. This forces him to dodge as much as possible if he wants to fight at full strength for a long period of time. This limits his fighting options in prolonged combat as he cannot afford to block an attack for a chance to get in a hit of his own as often as a more well-rounded fighter could. The high durability of his legs is his saving grace in this area, but pain will still affect his performance. Billy harbours a suppressed fear of pain caused by his most traumatic past beating at the hands of a street gang. As a result his dodging in battle tends to be more about running away from attacks than about actually evading them. This means that he doesn't always notice when a chance for him to counter-attack opens up because he's more worried about avoiding the next attack his enemies might throw at him. Any actual pain he experiences will continue to exacerbate this effect. RE: Billy Walker - Nail Strafer - 12-17-2013 03:10 AM Approved by Nail and Chadin. |
