Would anyone like to do a small RP down here? I have a plotline in mind, but I'd like to keep it a surprise until we begin
I would like to have at least three other players besides myself. The characters you choose may not have any abilities beyond that of a reasonably athletic, strong person. However, you will get special powers not too long after the storyline begins. Let's just say that it involves superheroes, and I'll leave it at that.
So anyone interested?
yes! Imma play as Jav!

I could do for a secondary plotline using Tutley or Tesla here. ^^
Great, that's two people! I guess I can start setting the scene while we wait. Roleplay now if you like.

It's a beautiful, spring day at the local city park in Station Square. Joggers run past the lake. A group of kids play on a jungle gym. The ice cream man passes out Fudgesickles in exchange for the grubby pocket change of the children.
Meanwhile, Gail walks along the sidewalk, looking rather dour. One of his friends had set him up on a blind date with some girl named Faye. He was looking for her now. Otherwise he never would be in this part of town. He would rather be out racing somewhere on his hover bike.
Since Station Square is mostly populated by humans, a few of them are not used to seeing someone like him walking around. Seeing such a large wolf walking on two feet, with all the muscle, fur, fangs, and claws was a rather arresting sight. A baby in a carriage cries as he walks past, while the human couple averted their eyes.
However, the crying caught his attention, and he turned around looking rather ashamed of what he'd done by being there.
"I'm sorry, is it okay if I help cheer her up?"
The human couple looked rather hesitant as they eyed each other for opinions. However, the mother offered a nervous smile.
"Um...sure...okay."
Smiling, Gail stepped around to the front of the carriage and put on his best big, happy face. He let his tongue roll out of his mouth and everything. Suddenly the baby went from crying to smiling and giggling. It was as if Gail were just a big friendly dog that could also walk around and talk. He tickled her a little bit, laughing along.
It was just another average day for an employee of Station Square's number one courier service. The turtle pulled up on his motor scooter roughly a half block away from where Gail was. Tutley shuts off the engine, pocketing the key. Pulling a pair of goggles up from his eyes, he looks up at the apartment building and checks the address. This was his last delivery for the day, and to boot he had made it there a full ten minutes early!
He taps his backpack, containing a shipment of round fruits for the in-apartment chao garden, whistling to himself as he strolls in through the front door.
The Jav sat parked, not two blocks away at an ice cream shop. A young human, maybe about 26 or 27, sat eating a mint cookies and cream ice cream cone. Two Raccoon children bounced excited in the back seat at they hastily inhaled their own ice cream.
"Thanks for the ice cream Jav" Joseph said.
"No problem, you guys make sure not to let those drip on my seats alright?"
They didn't respond seemingly oblivious to anything that wasn't a frozen treat.
Jav shook his head, if his old outlaw buddies could see him now. The once lawless bandit, one of the greatest outlaws the world has ever known, with life sentences in several, more authoritarian, countries, reduced to babysitter for his step brother and sister. Of course, they weren't his real siblings but their father had adopted him as his son after he had promised to go legit. Though it was weird at first, having a family, the idea had quickly grown on him.
"can we go fast? You haven't taken us fast in a while" Carrie said.
"No way dude, dad would have me shot."
"Aw come on Jav" Joseph whined. "How would he find out"
"He'd know, I don't know how, but he would. So just no little dudes, sorry"
The two raccoons deflated a bit in defeat. They'd had this argument a hundred times at least, and they knew it was a lost cause.
"Anything else you guys want to do?" Jav asked as he started his car.
[Was hoping Echo would have posted by now. Oh well, I'll keep us moving forward.]
As Gail continued to play with the young child, the mother looked rather tense.
"Honey, are you sure it's OK for that wolf to have his jaws next to our baby's face?"
The father hadn't thought of that. Even if this was a wolf that appeared to have human intelligence, he too thought this may be a bad idea. You never knew when a buried animal instinct might kick in, assuming they still had those.
"Okay, okay...I think that's enough."
"Aww, really?"
Gail retracted his head, looking rather sad in the process. Like the happy dog face, he did the sad dog face very well too with the flattened ears and dejected expression. Alas, the parents were not moved.
"Sorry, maybe some other time."
"Okay...fine..."
And he walked on his way, wondering where this Faye girl was.
But he found himself momentarily distracted by a slight rumbling under his feet. At first he thought he was imagining things, but then it got slightly stronger. Now he definitely felt something. It wasn't just him. He noticed all the people around him looking at the ground too.
But as soon as he'd felt the slight tremor, it passed. Gail waited for a few moments, but no more tremors followed. Sighing, he continued on his way. Everyone in the city would definitely feel it too.
"Evening maam', how are you today?", he asks the female human at the reception desk, tipping his cap as he strolls down the lobby. He comes to a stop at her station. He sets down his backpack, rumaging through various compatments and flaps here and there, eventually pulling out a medium sized cardboard box, the contents shifting about just a bit. She merely responds with a curt nod; it hadn't been his first visit here.
"Sign here please.", he says pulling a data pad out of a vest pocket, to register the deliverly as made, and to verify clearance to be punched out. A few moments later, hes on his way out, the box spinning around atop a small portable teleporter, a small scale model of the ones to transport others to chao gardens. As it poofs, the ground rumbles, knocking tutley square on his back. He spends the next few moments in natural terror during the tremor, flailing wildly. A few moments later, he calms down, and rolls over, getting to his feet. "What the...quakes in Station Square!?", he asks himself out loud.
"I have to get going, I hope your little guys enjoy their grub!", he says dusting himself off, and making a beeline for the door, backpack slung over one shoulder hastily. He was a rather paranoid turtle at times...
[Well, guess we've waited long enough for Echo. Sorry for the long wait. I was hoping others might join before we kick off the story proper. I'll try harder to keep us moving along.]
Gail continued walking along the street beside the park, just minding his own business. However, the ground rumbled once again. But it wasn't a light tremor like first time. He could barely stay on his feet, and he had to grab onto a nearby street lamp just to remain standing. As he tried to stand, he witnessed the carnage all around.
Car alarms went off. Signs detached from the sides of buildings. Potted plants fell off of window ledges. All of the debris came crashing down on the pedestrians below, who tried to get out of the way as best as they could.
Gail watched in horror as an entire chunk of bricks came off of a townhouse and landed on a parked car, crushing the cabin. Inside, he heard the screaming of the occupants, trying to get out . Frantically, he crossed the street as fast as he could, more crawling rather than running since he couldn't stand while the ground shook.
Once he reached the car, he pushed hard, trying to get the masonry off of the cab. However, even with all of his brute strength, he was having a very hard time doing it. It was then that he happened to see Tutley nearby, stepping out of the doorway.
"Come on! We gotta get these people out!"
As Tutley left the apartment complex, he pulled a PDA out of his pocket. He was about to check for any breaking news highlights when the rumbling returned, only worse than before. He could barely keep upright, lurching for the stair's rails to hold onto. He put the device away quickly, just in time as the shaking grew worse, sending him tumbling down the stairs. He quickly tucked into his shell, his backpack resting on the bottom stair as he hadn't properly secured it to his body.
He heard the sounds of debris falling, and twisting metal from inside his dome, peeking out. He heard someone shouting, and stuck his head out. There was a canine trying to help some people stranded inside a car. He wouldn't allow himself to just save himself by hiding out, so he grunts, clearly straining himself as with a loud -pop- he emerges from his shell, dressed in a blue T-shirt and a pair of shorts. He managed to send himself careening close enough to the car. He shakily gets to his feet, starting to pull away some of the bricks. Unlike your usual turtle, Tutley's shell wasn't fused to his body, meaning he was a fair bit stronger than your average furry due to a life of lugging that heavy shell around. Adrenaline was coarsing through his body, making it easier to pull those bricks and debris aside, but he wasn't faring much better than Gail. Why did they have to make bricks half as tall as he was? "Hey, think we can wedge one of the doors open?", he shouted out. Then there was the option of using one of his gadgets to call for help too, though with the ground so unstable, it was unlikely help would arrive before something -else- lands on the cab. For now, it was just him and Gail.
