It had been a difficult time for him. Not only was he lead to the middle of nowhere in Ice Cap Zone he was also lost and stuck there. And getting through wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.
He growled lowly under his breath as he looked around the area. Robotnik’s old base definitely hasn’t aged well. Most of the colors had faded away and the vegetation was slowly taking hold of the old structures. He scuffed slightly as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a slightly bulky octagon device with the Eggman Empire symbol on the front. Flipping the device opened he sighed as he began to contact the Doctor. He needed to know what had just happened; that is, if he even knew. It would take a while before it would finally connect. Bringing the communicator up to his mouth, he spoke as soon as he knew it was on.
“Ah, Doctor. I’ve finally reached you…”
Ending the call with the doctor, Tatsuhiro looked around one more as he began walking forward. Surely he’d find some sort of a terminal around here. He wondered why his communicator was having such a bad connection and could only guess it was the nearby mountain tops. Other than that it had something to due with the recent…events. Sighing heavily he explored the area as he searched for a computer terminal.
He walked for quite a while, looking around diligently to find something that worked. Even though the place had been slightly overgrown and destroyed he could only imagine what it would have looked back in the day. The Doctor seemed to take a lot of care in designing the place and was surprised by the amount of detail. It was almost like a large Russian palace, with either canary yellow walls or royal purple. The floors were all in square tiles of the same purple with the tiles being in a checkered pattern. Even on closer exanimation it occurred to him that the Doctor probably didn’t build the place completely but that he built over some other, older structure that stood here before.
Ironic his own buildings would have the same fate as what he built over.
Before long, he finally managed to find an area with a terminal and screen. Thanking to himself he finally found something; he reached into his pockets and took out his communicator, placing it near the terminal. Granted the terminal may not even work, but the Doctor’s stuff seemed to hold up to the test of times, as he dealt with his old forgotten machinery before. He looked around, finding the on switch and pushed the button to turn the terminal on. Waiting a few moments, he see’s the screen light up, processing the programs in order to run. He would soon quickly establish the connection between his communicator and the terminal in order to gain easy access into it.
The process was annoying as always, with long nails and slow typing would do, but he would soon get the connection running. Letting off a ‘Hmpf’ he reached for his communicator and pressed the call button.
[Transmission to Robo. HQ]
[Transmission end]
He stared at the screen a few moments before turning around.
“Great. He didn’t even give me any orders…”
The strange gargoyle seemed to be somewhat downed by the Doctor’s sudden ending of the transmission. He was stuck in this location, and with absolutely nothing to do. Two things he wasn’t fond of when it came to the job. He grabbed his communicator and stuffed it back into his pocket. Giving off another ‘hmpg’, he looked at the ceiling, seeing various pipes and metal beams that went over it. Managing to climb up by using the grooves in the wall, he positioned himself at the other end of the room; where the door was. Once there, he hung over the area, with his back against the closet wall and folded his arms to keep most of his shirt down as he hanged from his tail. Well, at least he could catch up on some rest he was missing out. The Doctor always had a tendency of sending him out as soon as he had started sleeping…
Tatsuhiro wouldn't be bored for very long. Outside, he'd hear a humming noise steadily growing louder and louder. If the mutant went outside, he'd see the first of many Robotnik ships starting to arrive at the Launch Base. They started to land on the far side of the lake, apparently intent on starting construction near the Death Egg's old support structures rusting in the sun.
At first he ignored the humming when it started out low. But as it continued to grow in magnitude, the harder it was to ignore. He cracked an eye open, somewhat annoyed as he looked around. There were no physical differences, so where was that sound coming from? His tail un-wrapped from the support beam it was holding onto as he landed softly on the ground; his wings retracting after he landed. He got out of the greatly shadowed area, to a place that overlooked the lake. There, he saw the large fleet, Eggman’s symbol clearly plastered onto the sides of the crafts.
“What is all that for?” he asked, quietly to himself.
Was he planning on overtaking the island? He wasn’t sure what kind of great significance that would hold, other than getting his hands on the Master Emerald. Which, Tatsuhiro knew wasn’t there. After all, if it was, he would still have been floating in the sky instead of being a ground-level. So what on earth was he planning?
Since standing there would prove to be completely useless, he jumped off the edge, gliding until he reached the shores of the lake as he began to walk around to the area with the most traffic. Surely, this was going to catch the eye of a particular guardian; one of his least favorite of Sonic’s friends to meet up with.
As Tatsu approached, he'd see the doors of the air ships opening wide even as they landed.
Bulldozer-like bots with large buckets and treads trooped down the exit ramps first, and immediately set to work pushing aside trees, brush, stones, and debris from the old buildings. The bots worked very efficiently, moving up in a staggered line to clear away everything in their path. It seemed they intended to make that area wide open and flat, perhaps for construction or some other purpose.
SWATpods also poured out of the ships and began to scout out the area. It looked like they were preparing to set up defensive positions, as every so often they'd stop to let off a few SWATbots with some sort of heavy weapon.
Tatsu had not been seen yet, but that would change very soon. If he wanted to look for a hiding spot, this would be his last chance.
Despite seeing the robot’s having heavy artillery and weapons, he ignored them. After all, while Robotnik didn’t trust him, that particular sensation didn’t transmute very well to Tatsuhiro. After all, the Freedom Fighters didn’t exist in his dimension, so he felt there was no reason for him to be suspicious. So he continued to walk on, in a sluggish pace as he looked at the events unfolding in front of him.
Was he planning on some sort of construction? While the last time he was able to successfully build on the island, it was only because the stupid echidna was completely blinded. Now though, how was he expecting to get anything done when he’s already tricked the b****** over a hundred times? He simply couldn’t wrap his head around the Doctor’s actions. Didn’t he say something about the emeralds shattering? He didn’t mention it a second time, nor did anyone else.
He inched ever more towards the site.
It wouldn't be long before one of the patrolling SWATPods noticed Tatsu walking down below. Immediately, the SWATBot pilot called in an alert on an intruder, and before long Tatsu would find the hovering ships buzzing around him and landing close by. SWATBots started pouring out of the ships to surround him, with their weapons ready.
However...almost as soon as the swarming started, the SWATBots lowered their weapons. One of them stepped forward to greet him. Or at least, as much of a greeting as the emotionless bots could give.
"Are you Tatsuhiro? Robotnik has orders for us to not harm you and bring you in."
After talking with Tatsu, Robo had uploaded a photo of him from the video conversation's recording and uploaded it to his patrols.
Tatsu’s eyes narrowed a bit as he heard the robot speak. Bring him in? It sounded as though he was treating him as some sort of criminal (other than the fact that he –is- one. Techniclly). A look of displeasure entered his face as he thought about the notion. Did Robotnik not –trust- him? It wasn’t like he wasn’t going to betray him or anything. What could be possible to do stop him; and more importantly, why would he? And when did he ever take commands from a bunch of rusted tin-can anyways? Besides the Bookeepers, of course; but that was only because the Doctor –told- him to listen. The entire notion of it offended him greatly; a feet that was hard to do. Tatsuhiro looked away from them, with a dull look in his eyes as he spoke.
“I am Tatsuhiro…” He answered firstly, with a slight hint of agitation, “So, the Doctor ordered you to take me in? Too bad. He didn’t order me to listen to you.”
While it would sound like a threat, he didn’t do anything beside fold his arms. He wasn’t quite thinking straight. But that’s what happens when someone is clearly peeved. Tatsuhiro was being incredible stubborn with this situation. Like hell he’d take orders from some robots. It’s not like he hasn’t torn through the Doctor’s little wind-up toys before. So threating him would fall on deaf ears.
