((I can't think of any special moves I want to us right now. Perhaps I'll think of some later. For now, this will do as my profile.))
Name: Gail Strafer
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Species: Wolf
Faction: Thieves’ Guild
Alignment: Neutral
Appearance:
![[Image: mountains.jpg]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Nail_Strafer/Drawings/mountains.jpg)
For an anthro, Gail is very tall and muscley. Dark gray fur covers most of his body. Lighter gray fur surrounds his eyes, lower muzzle, chest, and the underside of his tail. He has black hair that’s almost always messy. Like many wolves, his eyes are an eerie piercing gold yellow color, which can look rather intimidating when he gives you a glare.
He’s always dressed rather shabbily, owing to his low income status. Many of his clothes are old and have many cuts and stains from years of use. His favorite outfit is a red vest, dirty blue jeans, and green sneakers. This will sometimes be accompanied by a cigarette, since he likes to smoke.
Personality:
Gail is young and full of testosterone, and believes he is invincible. When he puts his mind to something, he becomes highly passionate and hot blooded. This often happens when he decides to get into a fight, since it’s what he believes he’s the best at. Opponents tend to be overwhelmed by how much heart and soul he will put into trying to win a fight. But this also means he sometimes tries fighting past when his body’s ready to give up.
Gail is also vain and feels like he absolutely has to impress everyone around him. So he’d suseptible to being talked into taking stupid dares, particularly when it comes to fighting. Gail just feels like he’s got to constantly prove to the world how great he believes he is.
Family:
Gail’s parents are two wolves that ran a farm in the Hiagra Grasslands. Their farm was brought to this dimension during the merge, although Gail personally doesn’t care to bother checking.
Transport:
Gail uses an old and well-used hoverbike that has seen better days, but still runs very well thanks to the mechanical know-how of its owner. To a degree, it can fly, but this uses up a lot more power than merely hovering above the ground.
Biography:
Gail was born the son of two wolves who ran a lucrative farm in the Hiagra Grasslands. Since the parents wanted their son to eventually take over the farm, they started having little Gail help out around the place. It was a lot of hard labor, so the boy started to get an impressive physical build for his age. Gail was growing quite strong. He also got a lot of experience running and repairing heavy equipment like harvesters, tractors, and ATVs.
Gail, however, definitely didn’t want to do this for the rest of his life. To be frank, he was bored as hell of living on the farm before long. Since their farm was out in the middle of nowhere they rarely went anywhere. Gail went to a nearby town of about 7,000 people for school and their farmers’ market, but that was about it for travel. In any case, the young wolf yearned to see the rest of the world, and he knew it wasn’t going to happen if he didn’t do something drastic.
So at the age of 15, he ran away on his own personal hoverbike. Gail had never known anything besides the countryside and that little town, so he was eager to see what the big city was like. Thus, he went to the closest metropolitan area he could find on the map…Gerrant. But little did he know how crime-ridden and corrupt the city was. Gail wanted to turn around and leave, but now he couldn’t afford to recharge his hoverbike to do so. He’d have to find some way to earn money.
Gail didn’t know what he was going to do, but one day a rather unsavory-looking gang member approached him in the street. He was a small weasel wearing dirty and worn-out clothes. At first Gail thought he was about to be mugged, but instead the gang member wanted to make him an offer. He introduced himself as Sam, and mentioned Gerrant had an underground fighting ring. Gail looked like he could be a strong contender with how fit he was from his farm labor. When Gail mentioned he had no fighting experience, Sam offered to train him at his local gym. All Gail would have to do is give him a cut of his winnings to pay for the classes.
Thus began a profitable relationship for the both of them. Over the next few years, Gail frequently entered pit fighting competitions in basements, abandoned warehouses, and the like to earn his keep. He became known by his nickname of “the Farm Boy”. Meanwhile, Sam stayed close and coached his new student as he grew in experience. Gail proved to be a natural fit for this sort of thing, since he already had great physical strength, stamina, and willpower even before his training. He deeply enjoyed his new life as a pit fighter, and often threw himself entirely into his training and matches. Before long Gail had become something of a local celebrity, and this fueled his love for his job even more. After particularly successful matches, Sam would frequently take him out to eat. And since Sam often smoked while eating, Gail picked up the habit too.
If the wolf had one weakness, it was that he often let his newfound ego and feeling of youthful invincibility get to his head. So sometimes he’d take stupid risks in fights just because someone had dared him to do so. It didn’t help he often applied this daredevil attitude when riding on his hoverbike.
Sam realized he’d need to do something to fix that problem. Fortunately, there was a dojo in town run by a monk, and his style stressed relaxation and calmness. So Sam had Gail train there for a while instead of their normal gym. While the monk was unsuccessful in taming Gail’s daredevil streak, Gail did pick up some useful techniques while there, plus his arm and leg gauntlets.
Fighting wasn’t enough to make ends totally meet, so Gail used his past experience fixing and maintaining the farm’s machinery to get a part time job at a local motorcycle shop. This allowed him to earn enough money to get his own small apartment. It was a tiny, shabby place, but he really enjoyed owning his own home all the same.
Too bad the dimensional merge took away all that. One night, Gail was riding home on his bike after a day of fixing motorcycles, and bright light flashed all around him. Suddenly he was back in the Hiagra Grasslands…but something felt off. At first Gail wasn’t sure what, but then he saw that the world now looked like it had been cut up and then stitched back together at odd angles. He spent days wandering the wilderness, searching for any sign of civilization.
The first time he met other people was at a lonely tavern in an isolated ghost town. The Thieves’ Guild used this as a meeting point. Gail learned about the dimension merge from them. He figured that Gerrant was probably gone now, so he decided he would join the Guild himself. After all, he’d been ingrained in the criminal element in Gerrant for ages, so he figured this wouldn’t be any different. If he found Gerrant later, it wouldn’t be much trouble to leave the Guild with how loosely organized it was.
His first opportunity for work came round very quickly, as he learned from his new Guild comrades. Apparently someone named Giichi Twinkieland needed some muscle to help with his heists, owing to his usual partner Petya being unavailable. Gail chose this assignment because Soleanna wasn’t too far away. So he rode towards the city, unaware of the battle happening there right now.
Moves/Combat Style:
Gail was trained as a pit fighter by his gang, so his fighting style tends to emphasize being able to absorb and dish out lots of punishment. He loves big, heavy blows, versus lighter faster strikes. Rather than dodging, he’s good at blocking, and isn’t afraid to intentionally take hits to tire out his opponent. Unless under a dare, Gail prefers simple techniques and avoiding flash, and is a pragmatist in combat.
He is adept at improvisation when it comes to using the environment or make-shift weapons around him. Gail is skilled in many melee weapons, particularly nunchucks, knives, and shaft-type weapons like clubs, pipes, etc. Gail also has a basic understanding of how to use firearms.
Weapons:
Gauntlets and Leg Guards – He received these from a monk that his trainer Sam introduced him to. They can serve both offensive and defensive roles. When wearing these, he can punch and kick considerably harder and do lots more damage than he would barehanded. With enough of a windup, he can even knock a swatbot off its feet with these. The gauntlets can also be used to block attacks from other weapons like swords.
.44 Magnum Whipcrack Revolver – When attacked by opponents with guns or other long-range weapons, Gail pulls this out. While the Whipcrack’s .44 Magnum rounds pack immense punch (able to easily pierce body armor and soft/thin materials), this revolver is too big and has too much recoil for most people. However, for Gail, it’s not that big of a problem due to his size and physical strength. He isn’t that accurate, but he can fire and reload the Whipcrack surprisingly quickly for its punch. But he cannot carry much ammunition so he cannot use it constantly. Not to mention he feels like he’s being a chicken when he pulls it out.
Cigarettes and lighter – Ever the pragmatist, Gail sometimes uses even these in combat. He’s not above blowing smoke in an opponent’s face to disorient them or extinguishing the fiery end on someone’s bare shoulder. Also, his lighter is very handy if a source of fire is ever needed.
Skills:
Handyman/Mechanic – Gail has an intermediate understanding of mechanics, particularly for motorcycles. He also does a lot of his own home repairs and maintenance, since he usually doesn’t have money to hire repairmen. So he can easily tackle certain DIY projects like plumbing, wiring, carpentry, and painting, and he knows how to use a wide variety of hand tools. This can be a big advantage for him if he needs to juryrig something very quickly. He frequently carries tools on his hoverbike, and uses his vest pockets for holding small tools as well.
Motorcyclist – Gail is very comfortable behind the handlebars of a bike, be it a normal one or a hoverbike. He doesn’t mind pulling wheelies, endos, and other stunts. And if the situation calls for it he’d probably be skilled enough to even ride one through a building or a narrow back alley way.
Night vision – Because he is a wolf, he can see somewhat better in the dark than most other people.
Strengths:
- High stamina, strength, and willpower, plus good defense. Gail is something of a living Panzer tank when it comes to fighting.
- He’s a large, imposing-looking guy. This gives him physical as well as psychological advantages when combat comes down to fisticuffs or melee weapons
- Skilled at improvising on the fly, be it finding a way to win a fight or coming up with a solution to some other problem
Weaknesses:
- Often tries to fight past when his body is ready to give up
- His desire to impress those around him can land him in trouble
- Aside from dodging fists at close range and being able to run at a good clip, he’s not very agile.
Random Facts:
- Speaks with a slight Dixie accent (“How y’all doin’ today?”)
- Closet fan of the tokusatsu TV show “Neko Sentai Kittehranger”, and has a small sticker of their logo on his bike
- Surprisingly good cook. He cannot afford to eat out, so he learned a lot about making good food on a budget
- His nickname is "Farm Boy" and adopted it for his alias in Gerrant's underground fighting ring.
