...And this would be the address.
Huu approached a specific door, a stopwatch in his hands. This had not been the specific stopwatch he had been asked to steal, but he had bought it at the drug store and fitted it with the battery Tails had given him. He had even tested it to make sure it worked.
Huu was currently assuming the form of the Mystic Ruins courier he'd copied before in order to deliver the nerve gas package. He carefully knocked on the door.
((This post was written in a bit of a hurry... I didn't mess up, did I?))
A peep hole slid open in the door and a pair of deadly black eyes gazed out. "What do you want!" The person demanded. He sounded quite angry and aggressive, and just about ready to rip the door off its hinges just so he could get outside and rip whoever was outside to pieces half a second faster.
Huu flinched a bit at the voice, but remained calm.
"Courier service. Here to deliver a... stopwatch."
The man's gleaming dark eyes paused, but the voice answered with all the gruffness of before, but now a little more intrigued. "We didn't order any stopwatches." He replied, looking the courier up and down. "Unless it's from a mutual friend." He added, with a tone that might suggest the man is plumbing for information in a discreet fashion.
Huu smiled. After glancing left, right, backwards, and everywhere in between to make sure nobody else was watching, he closed his eyes and began to shapeshift back to his normal tanuki form.
The man appeared to nod behind eye slit. "Come in." The sliding shutter scrapped shut and the door cracked open, beckoning Huu inside.
Upon entering the room beyond, Huu would see little, even with the light spilling in from the alleyway there seemed to be absolutely no lights on inside. Walking further inside, the door to the outside would slam shut and plunge Huu into total darkness.
Even with his better eye sight, being a raccoon and all, Huu would not be able to make out much at all. Then, a light high overhead flashed on, illuminating a narrow beam of light on the centre of the apparently empty void of a room. A voice Huu would remember from the van spoke out from a series of speakers mounted all around the room. "Ah, Huu, welcome back. Please, come and stand in the light. I trust you have what we seek?" the strangely calm and sinister voice of the Chinese man said.
Huu stood in the middle of the light and held the stopwatch where it was visible.
"There's something you should know about this watch. The fox told me all about it. It's not the stopwatch itself that's the important; it's the battery. It..." And he began to relay all the information Tails had given him.
"Well done, Huu." The disembodied voice replied after listening intently to the raccoon's report.
"I must admit, we already know a great deal of what you just told us. But you have done us a great favour by informing us of what the fox told you."
A hole opened up in the floor then a small pedestal rose up from the opening. "Please, place the device on the pedestal and you shall receive the reward we promised you."
"You have done quite well, Huu. We are on the precipice of a great event. Our organization could use someone with your... unique gifts. You will be quite handsomely rewarded for your services, of course. Interested?"
O sovereign gods of thievery, I present you with this humble sacrifice so that I may receive your blessing...
Holding the stopwatch high in the air (ugh, what a ham), Huu then placed it gently in the center of the pedestal and stepped back.
"I suppose I could tag along with your 'organization' as long as the pay's good. But as long as I'm here, would you mind answering a few questions? I like to know who I'm working for."
Once the stop watch was placed on the pedestal the whole assembly lowered back into the floor and the hole once again sealed itself. Behind Huu he'd notice a black leather suit case rising up from the floor on a similar pedestal. "Your payment, as promised." The Asian man's voice announced over the speakers.
"Your request is not unreasonable, Huu. Unfortunately we are an organization who values its secrecy. Perhaps if you prove you are truly loyal to us we might be willing to let you know more. For now, you are merely a hired hand. We cannot be sure you will not simply sell us out for a higher price. Suffice to say, we are a visionary group who wishes to change the world. And with your assistance we have taken a major step towards accomplishing that vision. If you wish to become something greater than just a lowly shyster and thief you will do well to join us. If not, you will do well to remember that we are watching you. Any signs that seek to betray our secrets and we will have you eliminated. Inside the brief case you will find a phone. We will contact you when we have further need of your assistance."
With that, the voice cut off and a light switched on over the same doorway Huu had entered.
